warning: pretty boring stuff ahead, like pictures of sneakers...

so this weekend was a pretty good one. now that i think about it, i went shopping friday, saturday and sunday..huh, well would you look at that.

well friday my mom came and picked me up in toronto and we spent the day walking around and ended up at the eaton centre. i was looking for a simple zip up hoodie, but a specific kind that i've seen all around. after no such luck finding it anywhere, i finally decided to try aritzia. BINGO, there they were right on the front table, with tonnes of colors. i picked one out and also another loose, long sleeved over the shoulder top. and mom offered to pay the bill ;) maybe when i get a job, i'll go back and get a few more colors ha. after shopping we grabbed some dinner, went back to my place for a bit and then headed back to my parents house. that's where i am now for a few days.

saturday, i had my hair appt-woo!! not quite sure why my short-ish and definitely not thick hair takes 3 hours for color and a trim, but it does. it's all worth it for the head massage when they're washing your hair. i die. i know not a lot is gone from the trim and that it desperately needed it, but i can still see the difference, but that's just me being a baby. and i wish my color would stay this bright and not fade after a few washes..it's hard to keep up with blonde!! so after my hair, my mom and i went to another mall. we mostly went for a store called style sense. they've got shoes and purses and sunglasses and all that jazz at discounted prices. i picked up these converse shoes (and the keds on sunday). thanks to mom for these too!yep, i took pictures of plain ole sneakers...i just noticed when taking these pictures that there are bunnies, or squirrels on my shoes; but we're going to pretend they're squirrels, because that's just cooler.

now that we've discovered i have squirrel shoes and i'm awesome, i can't wait to wear these babies.
and just because we can't leave out sunday, it was pouring rain all day, i read a bunch, and then went to the mall with my girl friend. sunday night consisted of watching amazing race and desperate housewives with my parents. yep.

ok, now this boring post is done.
ps. nyc in 2

(ok fine, maybe they are bunnies...)

sunshine award...

the lovely Magpie at Dazzled by Life gave me the sunshine award 'for people who just straight out shine!' so thank you!!
now i have to list 5 things that make me happy/smile:
  • chloe-duh, she's the highlight of my days, have you seen her?! not to mention she's hilarious without even talking (especially when she toots and then looks around real fast like, 'where did that come from, me?')
  • nyc-i don't think i will ever grow tired of this city; everything about it (ps..4 days away..what what)
  • sitting in a cafe with dylan-we like to try out new places and it's always nice to just sit there and enjoy ourselves and not worry about the stresses of life
  • finding good used book stores-last summer, i bought so many used true crime books (i still have one i have not read yet, grr) and most were 50 cents up, to about $3. just can't go wrong. (*i had this written before the previous post about the 5 i bought*)
  • really good red velvet cake, or cupcake. and it must have cream cheese icing, not buttercream (yuk). if it's cream cheese-y and delicious; i die.
and now to pass it on to....

Slightly Undone
the Blogette

♥happy, happy weekend!

i love a good page turner..

this is what i picked up at the book store yesterday during my walk around the city. i started off at an underground mall nearby, and on my way home i decided to stop at indigo to get my dad his birthday card. then i got to looking around and could have easily walked out having spent $100, but i didn't-just the card. then i realized, i'm off until i start school on may 10 and i need some books! and also a good read for the bus ride next week. seeing as the books at indigo are expensive/normally priced, i decided to head on over to my favorite book store: BMV Books. they sell new and used books at ridiculously awesome cheap prices. except the book in the top left corner (which was given to my mom by a friend to give to me), i got all 5 books shown for a total of $22. score, right? had i paid the price on the back of the books, my total would have been $56.

as you can see, i definitely like a certain type of book. don't get me wrong, i love a good girly book about a girl finding her way and falling in love in paris, or shopping or..you get the point..every once in a while, but true crimes are fascinating to me. i literally just cannot put them down. i think i read about 12 of them last summer. some people don't get it, like "how can you read about murders, doesn't it make you depressed, don't you have nightmares, are you a freak?" lol but you like what you like, right?

ahh summer!!

well, exams are done!! enter: freedom. well, until summer class in may that is. oh, and that final exam was brutal, let me just say that. 2 hours was not nearly long enough-only 2 people left before that, every single other person was scribbling down their answers as they were saying TIMES UP. no good, my friends. i normally never take even close to whole time on tests and exams, but this was just awful. i was rushed, and my answers were not what they should/could have been.

moving on! i have not a thing to do. well, actually that's a lie. i have to vacuum, clean, do laundry, pay summer tuition at the bank..pretty boring things. but i plan on reading a book that is non-school related, sitting on the porch, walking the dog, grabbing a starbucks, and relaxing. on friday my mom is coming up and we're gonna hang out for the day, it's supposed to be beautiful out. then i'll head home with her for a few days and i'll get to see my friends and stuff and get my hair done! then, on wednesday, dylan and i head back to toronto and then we're on our way to nyc. excitement creeping in more and more.hey, it's us!

hair days...

i tend to go dark in the winters, i think this was 2008
this was my 19th birthday, so summer 2006; short and really blonde
another 2008, going dark always had a redish hue on me, not sure why..
a little darker blonde..
last summer, and i look like i'm terrified, like "oh shit, hurry and take the picture, because one of these is going to fall.."
summer 2007 maybe
last year, it was straight and i got bored and used a tiny curling iron, then dylan photoshopped my eyes (wish i had blue contacts for fun)
this was probably 2006?(ish)

i mean, my hair hasn't changed too much, it's gone from short to long (for me, still not where i want it just yet though), dark to blonde, and in between. by the way, i have the slowest growing hair ever, it blows. which makes me never want to cut it, and then i don't and then the ends are killed and i have to get a big cut to make it healthy--FAIL-and that's basically where i am now; in dier of a big trim and to get colored..it's been 3.5 months..yikes. i used to go every 2 months, then somehow it's stretched out to 3 months and i don't get it trimmed nearly as much as i should, so it's my own fault my ends are terrible and at my appointment next week, i'm probably going to cry with how much needs to come off. and that was a big long run on sentence. whew

anywho, i wrote this post a few days ago and threw it up now because i'm in the midst of studying and life is pretty boring! however, it shall get better soon :)

thanks to everyone for all the 'goodlucks' recently..i really appreciate it. i promise i will stop mentioning my finals soon, very soon. because my last one is tonight!! i can't freakin' wait to walk outta that exam room and just know that i have absolutely nothing to do in the next few days.

so happy she's angry...

chloe loves to play, and she's very vocal while doing so. she also loves when her dad comes to see her. don't worry, she's very happy when playing, she just has the vocal cords of a demon. ignore she crappy video quality and the messy floors.

Six Senses Saturday

Julia at The World is My Oyster does Six Senses Saturday, and asked everyone to join in. so of course i will, and here we are...
***
right now i'm

tasting:
nothing yet :( waiting for my coffee and oatmeal to be ready..hurry up! i wish i was tasting crumpets and peanut butter though, that's on the list for groceries this afternoon...
smelling:
a fig candle that i have lit..mmm very calming
seeing:
i literally just checked my phone this second, and the weather eye shows the icon of rain/snow..you've got to me kidding me...at least with the snow part..
hearing:
chloe's chain jingle jangle as she runs around me because she has lots of energy in the morning, also birds chirping outside (no rain/snow just yet). other than that it's still quiet, no music or tv on, it's currently only 8:36am
touching:
chloe, who decided to jump up beside me and lick me all over my face as i type
feeling:
very anxious, i need to do some basic groceries today (milk, apples, crumpets) and i have a lot to study for. although it's open book on tuesday, i have to figure out which pages, of the 500 pages assigned to us online, i want to print and take with me..hmm which ones do i think will be relevant? needless to say, i've got a lot of work ahead of me.
***

so there you have it! if any of you guys feel like doing it, you should check our her blog and add your link ;)

have a good saturday

sweet disposition

starting the day right, with the windows wide open, sun shining in, a hot coffee (in the cute little mug i got at a garage sale from the neighbors across the street; they're so sweet, they gave it to me for free!), and the journal dylan got me for christmas.
actually, i took this picture yesterday, and the sunshine is now a lie. it's overcast. but the windows are still open, i still have my coffee and my journal out.

in other news, happy friday! i'm studying/reviewing all weekend for my last exam on tuesday in criminal law and procedure! yay
i also have to buy my dad a birthday gift soon..he's a toughy to buy for, hmm...
do you guys have anything fun planned??

a little update: it's super sunny and pretty hot, i'm wearing shorts and a tshirt..oh happy day.

bring the ball back boy

">

i found this video through dane cook's twitter and thought it was hilarious. i swear, dylan has played it about 50x already haha i think it's a voice-over, though i can't be sure. either way, it's so stupid that i die laughing every time.

what's cool and what's not...

this morning, around 830, i stroll outta bed and take the dog out for her pee and notice there is a fashion television suv parked in front my house.. 'cool' i think to myself. then around noon, i take her out again and they are filming a model walking down my street and then riding a bike. there are photographers and a film guy right across the street, and i walk out in sweats and a sweater...not cool.

then again around 230 i took chloe out to the park because it's ridiculously gorgeous outside. now they were doing a photoshoot right in my driveway! cool. so i walked by and took her to the park and when i came back i creeped/hung out on my porch and watched. the model did a couple outfit changes and at one point they put her in a size 2 and she said she's a 4/6 and she asked if she had back cleavage and then said she felt like she was on bulging brides lol they had a little table set up with a lemonade for sale sign and a pitcher and an old tv set on the tv. it was actually really neat, or cool. although, they didn't ask chloe to be in the shoot....not cool. ha
i felt weird taking a picture outside, so i peaked out my bedroom window and tried to get a few shots.
i felt like a major weirdo taking these pictures, but i had to! lol how often does this happen??

heart of life

tried to get the boats and water in the background, not so successfully
hi! just me
can't wait to get started
yummy yummy food....

aw look at that face
aha waiting for the subway
patiently
tried to get the blur of the moving subway in the back, but i just look like a mess in the background; it's all good

on sunday, i got up early (as usual) and while dylan was still sleeping with chloe, i tried to think of something to do for the day- it was going to be beautiful. it only took me a second to think of the st. lawrence market, however, it's not opened on sundays. sad. BUT, the antique market is! so, when he woke up/i woke his ass up, i told him of the plan and we headed out by 11. what's good about taking the subway/street car on the weekend in toronto is the pass you can get for $10 that we can both share and we have unlimited use of it for that day, so we can go anywhere we want!

we browsed around the market, but stuff was a little overpriced in my opinion. i found a nice little corner shelf, but it was $275-no thanks...after walking around, we were starving, and took the street car up to queen st. i had always wanted to try the Korean Grill House, where you cook your own meat on the grill in the middle of your table. i always looked in the windows in awe and my mouth would start to water whenever i passed one in toronto lol so that's what we did! it was 8.99 each and you get unlimited beef, pork, chicken, 2 types of fish (yuk) and rice.

at first, dylan hated it..but i loved it. it was so fun, and after a while, dylan started to like it too. the only bad thing was that the chicken was really fatty, so i didn't eat that. i'm so happy i finally got to satisfy my craving for this and i will definitely go back for more :)

anyways, i'm off to get a starbucks and try to return a pair of shorts at h&m without a receipt, but with the tags still on. i'm hoping they give me a store credit to get a different pair.

happy tuesday!

weekend fun...

so on saturday, dylan and i met my friends at Mod Club here in Toronto; a bunch of them took a party bus in from about an hour away. i think most saturdays, it's UK underground night. this place was so much fun, and i think one of my favorites in the city.
me and my bestie

you start real low...

doing the folks of jersey shore proud lol

doesn't he look so impressed?

taking a little break upstairs, while the rest were dancing their hearts out downstairs

seriously, i loved this place-we will def be making our way back sometime, and it's in a great little area; little italy. there's lots of little restaurants and such around. oh, and we got the best chicken shawarma when we left. lots of garlic sauce=amazingness :) :)

beautiful blogger award..

I want to thank Katie at Jersey Blonde for this award (my first, yay!)

Now I say 7 things about me and pass it long to 7 other ladies...

1. i absolutely LOVE NYC; i have gone the last 6 summers and twice last year-heaven!

2. if i was good in the sciences, i would love to be in forensics, on the crime scene, or doing something in the labs with the bodies...hmm, kind of morbid

3. i am beyond terrified of butterflies. if i see one, or anything that resembles one, i will run for cover so fast and duck into a ball..no joke

4. i cannot stand the sound of chip bags opening, makes me cringe

5. the whole "it's like riding a bike, you never forget" type thing-ya, doesn't apply to me-i can't ride a bike for the life of me and i used to be able to when i was little

6. i eat a lot of things out of mugs-chips, pretzels, fruit, anything snack-ish

7. i am way more of a candy person (think watermelons, cinnamon lips, sour peach) than chocolate...although m&m's are an exception (i major heart those) and i certainly enjoy a good twix bar.

so, i will now pass it on to...

Lindsey at la dolce vita

Jamie at life as i know it

Mel at Mel Learns Her Lesson

Magpie at Dazzled by Life

J at rbandj

Nicole at my teacups in peony

Whitney at a "cheery" disposition

:)

yay, the weekend!

well, dylan came up yesterday and we watched some more of dexter-we're now 3 episodes into season 4. we grabbed some pizza and bottled sangria and we were set to go. today the weather decided to be quite cold (like, 3C) and it's actually snowing a little!! crazy, last weekend it was tshirt weather..

we took a walk down to the eaton centre this morning, i was looking for a top for tomorrow night. it's my friends 23rd birthday! i didn't find anything for tomorrow, but i did find a tshirt for $8 and a pair of jeans for $35 from costa blanca..not too shabby. then we hurried home and dylan had to leave because he has to work tonight and tomorrow, then he'll be back up so we can go out tomorrow. as for me for the rest of the day? probably CSI, king of queens (scratch that, SATC movie it is!), blankets, chloe, m&m's and a book from america's #1 trial lawyer (book from 1971 lol) and some of his defense cases...just my type of book..."the defense never rests" by F.Lee Bailey.

i'll be hanging out with these girls tomorrow and a bunch of other friends-it's been a while since we've all gone out actually..can't wait! (this picture was from summer 2008 summer, but it popped into my head when i thought about the girls)

happy friday and have a great weekend!! (and hopefully you guys have better weather than here in toronto!)
