awkward and awesome...

i figure it's been a while since i've done an awkward and awesome, so why not today?

awkward:
-getting asked for my number by a regular at work. it went a little something like this: "blah blah blah conversation..hey, you should give me your number and we should hang out some time" "oh sorry, i have a boyfriend" "the good ones always do" and then cue my face going bright red.
-not  understanding accents. i'm horrible. it really does make things uncomfortable.
-waking up at 2 am and seeing from my bedroom that my kitchen light has gone out. obviously, my first instinct wasn't that the lightbulb burnt out, but that someone was in my place and had turned it off. (ya, my kitchen light stays on all night)...i swear i'm normally a logical person. and then i went and flicked it on and off to make sure it was burnt out (which it was), and i went back to sleep peacefully ;)
-being too lazy to wash a glass when i was done, therefore drinking OJ from the container. and then it dribbled down me. good thing i was alone. (it was nearly done. i wouldn't drink from a container knowing i may have to share with someone)
-how accurate this video is..between 12 and 16 seconds, this is how i am when a butterfly is within 30 feet of me. then i cower in fear and hyperventilate.

awesome: 
-being told i have 'perfect skin' and a 'perfect nose' by 2 different people. *blush* if you say so ;)
-finishing 4 of the books i got for christmas. i'm just motoring along.
-laughing so hard i'm crying over funny youtube videos. alone. wait, maybe this should be under awkward?
-having s'mores in january, especially because i never got to have one in the summer!
-90210/criminal minds/desperate housewives are back after a long hiatus.
-snow is in the forecast for today!! woooohooo (hold back the hate mail :))
-i have 2 weekends off in a row. this is unheard of.
-the fact that me and dyl have kind of planned out what we would like to do for our 'summer getaway' at the end of april. if all works out, i'm (well dylan too, of course) excited! 
-my mom now knows how to text, and even use ALL CAPS. this leads to funny messages from her. things like, "hi honey, it's WINDY WINDY WINDY outside, don't bother with your umbrella, love mom(my)"

 i'm so weird that i wear dylan's undies and pose so oddly in them.

i'm pretty sure i've posted the above photos before, but i thought i would add them in because they kind of fit with the 'awkward' theme. anyways, i'm on my 6th of 7 days in a row at work, and i'm just about spent. tomorrow night cannot come quick enough.

awkward

-while shopping with my mom, she picked up a pair of shoes for herself and said "what do you think of these?" and i, without thinking, said loudly, "those are so italian!" my mom turns to the lady beside us and says, "i hope you're not italian!" she said she was. oops. then my mom told her i am too. foot.in.mouth. i was honestly like a little 3 year old with no filter who just spits stuff out. we had a good laugh. turns out the brand name of the shoe? "italian" so i was clearly right on point! i just meant they were for little old italian ladies...oy.
-dylan is coming for a visit today for 2 days. he wants to do a 'photoshoot' with a friend who's into photography. the 2 of them with cameras at me... you have no idea how awkward i am in front of a camera. point and shoot, smile with your friends? a-ok. pose and try and look good? not ok. and when i said it was going to rain? even better they say. boys...
-getting asked my phone number in the park. chloe is a boy magnet. forget milkshakes, i got chloe ;)


awesome

-we're going to see death cab for cutie tomorrow night!! woohoo. we saw then 2 years ago and they were awesome.
-big brother. one of the many reality shows i love. ps. jeff, i love ya.
-a nice fresh cut and color, and the awesome head massage that comes along with it.
-not biting my nails for over a week and actually having white tips. this is big people. why is it such a nasty habit to break??

she's a floating head. no worries, it looks like i was grabbin' her tightly, but i wasn't.

even if the daybook doesn't put her awkward and awesome post up, i'm still posting this (obviously, because you're reading it) :)

awesome:
-getting a call for an interview.
-woofstock. being around hundreds of dogs.
-free samples all around toronto. pizza, starbucks drink samples, shampoos and conditioners, burts bees cream, string cheese, drinks...
-real hosuewives of OC. just watched the whole 6th season in about a week. please tell me alexis isn't invited back; i can't stand to listen to the stupid shit that comes out of her mouth one more second. it's 2011, not 1950.
-the weather. the sun. the heat.
-a friend of me and dylan's from college that moved back to toronto this week. i know dyl is super stoked for this. we'll probably grab a drink on a patio tomorrow.
-3 new books from my favorite used book store. all true crime ;) actually, one is about the 'psychoanalysis of destructive people' - think criminal minds, but real. i'm excited for that one.


awkward:
-answering the phone, as mentioned above, and my phone RESTARTING mid call!!! (this is awful, not awkward). i died. i looked at my screen and it was black with a little white apple on it. i'm staring there, my heart pounding hoping it turns back on, meanwhile searching online for the phone number i need to call back. thank gosh that worked out. but seriously phone, talk about the worst time ever to do that for the first time.
-interviews. period. i haven't been to one in, oh, 7 years...
-taking chloe out for her nightly pee, walking back to my place, turning around and seeing a shadow real close. heart pounding thinking someone is following me. realizing it's my own shadow.

 awkward is also spilling milk like a 2 year old.

thursday here, which means it's time for awkward and awesome once again. apparently i have lots to say this week :) lets get started...

awkward
-rain hair. or hair from dampness. whatever. it sucks. and makes me look awful in public. or i just wear a hat one too many days in a row.
-seeing a lady in the neighborhood who clearly just had work done. sunglasses on a cloudy day; nose strip thing; little tiny blood spots where needles were injected all over your face. botox, anyone? oh i wanted to stare, so badly. but i tried not to make it obvious. that would have been mean.
-doing a little dance on all the ice outside because no one puts down salt fast enough. and no, not actual dancing, i'm talking slipping and sliding. one day, i'm going down, i know it.
-trying an eye pencil on my hand in the drug store, and thinking, i probably shouldn't do this. then the sales girl came outta nowhere and told me i'm not allowed to test them. then why don't they have that plastic wrap on them so the cap can't come off?? answer me that. most of them do.
-having a dream about justin bieber. say what? i don't even like the kid. i'm not a belieber! or whatever else his little minions are being called these days. not to mention i'm like 7 years his senior...
-oh, i also had a dream about vinny (yes, from jersey shore). but in my dream he wasn't popular from the shore, he was just a regular guy. i won't complain about this dream though because he's the guy (ok person) on the whole show that i actually like and that's attractive. he's not a guido in my opinion (which is a good thing), he's not obnoxious and he's not a man whore like the rest. except the eyebrows, hate the shaped eyebrows.

awesome
-running the stairs on friday and waking up saturday and feeling the burn. hope that means the 1000 steps were worth it
-eating healthier all week than i have in a long time. extremely baby carrots help with my snacking addiction.
-reaching over 200 followers...thanks all!
-warm cinnamon rolls with lots of icing (woops, that doesn't really mesh with the whole 'eating healthier' thing does it? it was saturday night. whatever)
-dylan walking through the door at the *exact* moment the dinger went off for said rolls
-a free latte from starbucks..because their 'computers were going slow'-if you say so!
-the girls tell all. all a bunch of crazies. which equals entertainment. plus, the finale next week!
-actually knowing how to take a picture with the webcam on my new laptop; all of the 3 years with my other laptop, i didn't know how.

lets hear it for 1 or 2 megapixel webcam pics. old school. what what. 

oh, and this is also awesome, today until saturday starbucks is celebrating 40 years with new petites and cake pops! if you go in between 2pm-5pm and get a drink, you get a free mini dessert! i'll definitely be heading there this afternoon :) you should too ;)

-taking the dog out in my pajamas every morning 30 seconds after getting out of bed (for her pee) and seeing a group of construction guys next door.
-almost passing out after my blood work; what can i say? i'm a fainter...
-falling down the stairs because of the damn cat! i was fine
-watching family videos with the fam + dylan of when i went through my chubby stage.
-going to the mall immediately after dinner and trying clothes on


awesome:
-the fact that i'm still on reading week :) though it's over to quick
-having proper delicious dinners every night while i'm home at my parents
-my mom always has dessert
-we got more snow
-my bff's 24th birthday tomorrow!
-booking another trip to NYC with dyl
-the fact that our return bus trip is $13 total each (more on that later!)
-winning a free coffee with roll up the rim at tim hortons on my second coffee. last year, i don't think i won once in, like, 20.
