italy video...

we left for italy 4 months ago today (unbelievable!) and we finally got around to putting our video together! i've literally been the worst nag for the last few months trying to get dylan to do it. i mean, especially now with the broken ankle, he has so much time! but i get it, we had about 4 hours of footage to go through so it was no easy feat. but we took advantage of the long weekend (and being housebound) and put it together. we cut it down to 16 minutes (which is still fairly long), but hopefully it's not boring. we've watched it at least a dozen times already.

unfortunately, because we have music in it and youtube has silly rules, it can only be viewed on a computer, it will not work on a phone/tablet/ipad etc. it's really weird and it sucks, but oh well. we tried vimeo but we had to reduce the quality in order to get the size within the limits and it looked horrible. so, we're stuck with watching it on a computer.

also note: the quality increases so much if you click on the little crank on the bottom right hand corner of the video ("settings") and choose HD.

*video HERE*

you'll probably be able to tell by the smiles on our faces that renting a boat in amalfi was our favourite part of the trip. really though, the entire trip was just a dream and we can't wait for our next one.

shake it, shake it...

yesterday dylan and i took the birthday girl out for lunch at one of our favorite restaurants that's all local ingredients; the food is just incredible. afterwards we came back to our place, hung out, ate some cake that i had made, and maybe, just maybe, made a harlem shake video. don't worry, you'll see it below.
i can bake and cook, but i cannot ice a cake.

 birthday girl.

so we did indeed do the harlem shake. personally, i think all the videos are hilarious and love them. my friend had never heard/seen them so of course, we showed them to her. then what do you know..we were making our own. it's so stupid, but that's the harlem shake in general, right? enjoy!

llamas, sheep, and goats, oh my...

we left for ottawa at 6am and about 2 hours into the drive, we stopped at the big apple; a place that bakes tonnes of pies and breads, and also has some animals that you can pet. i pretty much love all animals, so i was on cloud 9.
sun rising on the way.
chipper at 6am.

handsome man.

haha i love llamas.

top of the apple. it's like i have a superhero shadow mask on.

clearly loving life.
and the double chin shows it ;)

"we want more!"

and here`s a short video about me and the goats; it was love at first nibble.

yes, that little bugger hooked my sweater at the end!

america, but better...

this video is hilarious. minus the tar sands, and the seal clubbing (lets not talk about how awful canada is in that department), canada is pretty good!

go canada !

i have friday, saturday AND sunday off this weekend. i'm stoked. i'm going home for a bit, and then on saturday night, if you can  believe it (but i guess it's better late than never), we have our work 'christmas' get together! ha just a little late.

somebody that i used to know...

i'm just busy working away. such is life. and when i come home, i have fun on my webcam. sexy pictures for dyl? nah, he gets these babies. lucky guy ;)
i'm a ball of fun.

ps. have you all seen this video that's going viral? probably. 5 people, 1 guitar and a wicked cover (of a song i've never heard). seriously, i love it. i'm obsessed. i can't tell you how many times i've listened to it in the last few days. it's already on my iphone. give it a listen and love it, too. you're welcome. also, i found the original and listened to it, and this cover is, in my opinion, way better.
** i just found out on the news that they're from just outside of toronto! woohoo canadian talent!

through 5 years...

i completely forgot to post about this 'video' i made for our anniversary. actually, i just uploaded it to youtube not too long ago. i showed it to dylan when we were in the hotel in quebec, and he loved it :)  so, if you care to see 5 years worth of pictures of us in 5 minutes, take a look!

have a good weekend!

see how pretty your hair is...

have you all seen this video yet? probably. it's the newest viral hit.

is that not the cutest thing? (staged or not) i love the part about the 'boobies'-hilarious.

a day by the water...

a few times a year, i usually end up at niagara on the lake. a little while ago, me and my mom packed up a picnic lunch, books, and chairs, along with chloe and hit the road. we walked along the strip of stores for the first hour, then we parked our butts by the water and ate and read for the rest of the afternoon.

isn't that water lovely? all brown and such.

'just chritmas' store. i die every time i go in. it's love.

i zoomed in as far as i could to make sure; nothing is falling out of my top ;)

love that tongue of hers.

and an (extremely) shaky video from the day filmed on my iphone. i was just walking holding it without looking, and apparently i don't walk very smoothly ;)

storm watch...

yesterday, we got hit with quite the storm! leaving my parents place, it was sunny as could be. i fell asleep in the car while heading back to toronto (of course, because i'm like a baby and the car puts me to sleep in 0.5 seconds and i love it) and woke up when it started to get dark. things quickly took a turn for the worse...
1) we were still in the sun and could see the darkness ahead 2) uh oh, we're getting closer 3) and shit, we've hit it

it was coming down SO hard, it was crazy. we could barely see in front of us. as we were getting closer to my place, it really slowed down, and then the thunder and lightning started. soon enough, the sun was out and you would've never known it rained.
my mom told me to take a video, so i did. she narrates part of it ha. she also says 'lightling' because that's how she said it when i was a kid.

ps. it got chilly out (about 16 celsius, 60 fahrenheit for those who always forget we canadians use celsius lol), even with a sweater on, and i loved it!

i need you so much closer...

oh death cab. how i love thee. as i mentioned, this was our second time seeing them, and we must have seen before i started blogging, because i can't for the life of me find a post. anyways, they are amazing and we love them, and we'll probably see them again :)
seats were still being filled as the opening band 'frightened rabbit' played
neither of us had heard of them, but they were really quite good. and from scotland!
obviously we're having a way better time than the straight laced guy behind us
unfortunately, as you can see, they came on when it was dark and my little canon powershot just can't manage in the dark. too bad.
and another shot when we were walking home

and a video i put together of clips of 10 or so songs. the audio is good, but the quality of video is less than stellar. and it's choppy from me cutting it to put together. it's also long. i couldn't pick and choose. ;) (you can also hear dylan talking to me a few times in the video)

a couple things:
-the concert started right on time. the first band went on right at 8. they were done by their scheduled time and death cab went on at their scheduled time as well. much appreciated.
-they came back for an encore. and they didn't disappoint. 4 songs! and they ended with transatlantacism. which is probably my favorite song. yay.
-i think our seats were better than they appeared. my camera just kind of sucks. and we were exactly centre, which was great.
-i yelled to dylan during the concert, "he's married to zooey deschanel eh" "who's that?" "the girl from 500 days of summer!" "OH! she's like the perfect woman!"
-they're just really awesome.

move, learn, eat...

i first saw one of the 3 videos on reddit yesterday morning (anyone else check that site religiously? they have some pretty funny shiz). i fell in love with the one video posted. i watched it, then saw there were more. 3 friends, 44 days, and a lot of counties results in (3) 1 minute videos-move, learn, and eat. i think they're brilliant. i was going to post this monday, but i figured it would be viral by then, and i gotta stay on top of my game ;) so it's here today. and the rest of the concert post will be posted monday.

 MOVE (my personal fave)

LEARN (a close second)
EAT

hope you enjoy them :)

happy friday!! woohoo

a couple videos for hump day...

did you know i can sing??
brace yourselves...
oh yeah. i should have been on the voice. i was just singing to chloe cuz i love her.
(i hope you all are catching the sarcasm here. i can't sing. i don't pretend i can sing. i was bored...)
and this is chloe yesterday. she's vocal. very vocal. i know it sounds terrible, but she's been like that since she was a pup. just how she plays!

ps. they're iphone vids, so the quality isn't great.
i love my little nutball.

big city love - nyc video...

ok, so after a heck of a lot of trouble with this video, it's done. not the making of the video. that's all dylan's expertise. the only part i helped with was the picking of the songs a bit. i even left him at my parents house to finish it while i went on a doggie play date hahah all work and no play for my boyfriend.

anyways, after taking 14 hours to upload to youtube, we find that the audio was muted because of the music we put on it. so obviously it ruins the video. it happened to a video a year ago we put up, and it eventually came back, but i want to share it asap! facebook, blogger, email etc... duh. dylan had to leave for work and that left me to try it on vimeo. first off, it was too big. then i'm trying to figure out how to compress this file with windows movie maker (which i've never used); there was swearing and frustration on my part as dylan was explaining it through text. finally i got it. and it took another 4 hours to upload it. so you better like it! ahahh jk. it's long. kind of. we aimed for 5-6 minutes, but it hit 10 minutes. oops. but there's farting and throwing up (don't worry, it wasn't me, we didn't get that on tape. and you don't see it either, so don't worry!) and awesome nyc stuff. if that doesn't sound enticing to make you watch the whole thing, i don't know what will!

also, you should totally be jealous of my wicked dance moves..

automatic laughter...

it's friday. duh. as if you all didn't know that. i thought i would leave you this little video that had me in tears (in a good way) from laughing. i was hitting my desk i was laughing so hard. after dylan sent it to me, i watched it a second time, then i showed it to my friend, then i showed it to my mom. and basically anyone who would watch. i think it's that funny. the girl is clearly having a fantastic time. i should film my own. now all i need is a mac (& i don't want one, so there goes that idea).

enjoy!
and have a happy weekend

wake up kitty...

for all the cat people out there, or those that just enjoy hilarious videos about animals in general. my mom sent me 1 clip in an email and then i found out there was a series of 14 on youtube. i definitely had many laughs over these videos. i don't think dylan found them as funny as i did. he mostly laughed because i found it so funny. maybe you won't either?

if you click on the video, it should show all 14 clips lined up at the bottom. if you feel like watching them all, that is. i just think they're too funny. maybe i'll do it with chloe?? haha
i don't know how many times i watch that cat say "faaaaack, you gotta be kidding me" (from part 2) HA

a moment, a love, a dream, a laugh, a kiss, a cry, our rights, our wrongs...

ok, so i missed my post yesterday about the concert, but i had a paper to write, which is due today! so, my apologies. but here we are now! so my 2 girlfriends came up around 12:30 (and i didn't go to my class, oops) and we just walked and shopped around the city. it was such a crummy day though; damp and little sprinkles of rain here and there. luckily, the heavy rain didn't start until we were about 10 minutes away from my place, and we had umbrellas. i ended up getting a major part of my halloween costume while out, which i am so so excited about!! i'm not giving it away just yet..you'll have to wait ;) the best part? it fits like a glove, no alterations needed and it was only $38. i only need a few other little accessories and they should be cheap. so yay for that!

we got back to my place around 5 and just freshened up from being out all day. soon enough, we were off to a restaurant around the corner from me for some much needed dinner and then it was off to the concert. my friend decided she wanted to drive instead of take a cab and it totally worked to our favor. parking only cost us 50 cents because we could use a meter and it wasn't enforced after a certain time. score!

so who did we see? The Temper Trap. ever heard of them? no? (that's a lot of questions) well, they're awesome. and if you've seen 500 days of summer, then yes, you've heard a song! *sweet disposition* (that will take you to their youtube video). seriously, every song is so good.
they played at Phoenix Concert Theatre. i had never been there, but it was a pretty cool venue. a good, small size with an upper level that had some seating too. it's a place that no matter where you stand, you feel close and can see perfectly. bonus in a shorty's book(ie me!) anyway, 2 bands played before but we only saw the second one. not sure who they were, but they were pretty good. then it was the guys i've been waiting for! what a good show it was. short, but that's because they only have one cd.

i love seeing a band live and they're just as good as what you hear on a cd. it's nice to know they're not manufactured and fake, ya know? overall, they put on an awesome concert, and the lead singer is adorable. he's got such a wicked, kind of different, somewhat high voice. i'm sad to say not a single picture turned out of the show, my camera hates dark concerts apparently. but, i did get 2 videos.
 ready to go!
hoodies and jackets required in rainy weather :(
see, this is what i got. not impressed. btw, that's the singer with his head kind of back playing guitar, because it probably looks like a blob to everyone.
a little clip of 'fader'
'sweet disposition'-my favorite. although i'm a little peeved i missed the very beginning "sweeeeeet dis-po-sition..." part..i didn't start recording fast enough.

i wish the show had gone on longer :(  and i'm also hoping they have a new cd coming out soon!
but really, go listen to some of their songs. now. go! ;)

what's your name...

i must say, this weekend was a good one. friday, i spent the day doing some readings for school and such and that's pretty much it. then saturday, 2 of my girlfriends came up for a visit. they both had to work until 6 and 7 and then get ready and then come to toronto, so they got here around 930 at night. we had some drinks, listened to 80s music while hanging out and then called a cab and headed to Tatoo Rock Parlour on queen w. the first time i went was last year for my friends leather and lace themed birthday. it was still just as good. the music is like old school rock and some new stuff. then they throw in journey, shout (a little bit softer now..), twist and shout and you got yourself a good night of girlfriends and dancing.tequila shots for my friends..none for me!she's pretty happy :)didn't even realize we were locking arms hahahaving a pretty good timemy friends are pretty, then we decided to make 'surprised' faces, for whatever reason..

and a quick 15 second video, we had no idea a video was even taping lol that always makes things better!

of course when we left it was pouring rain, thank god we had our jackets to put over our heads. all we wanted was pizza, or a falafel, but sadly, we didn't pass anything. we kept walking and walking and all of the cabs were taken! our feet were hating us. finally, about half way home (or a 20-30 minute walk, due to slow steps in heels), we got a cab. we got home still hungry at about 3am, called numerous pizza places and they were all closed. finally we found one, ordered a large and just waited. we watched the movie disturbia (still love that movie) in the meantime and the pizza finally got here at about 435 am!! ahhh seriously?! we ate up and then by the time we finished and were ready to go to bed, it was 530 and the sky was lighting up lol we were dying. then they had to get up at 10am, even though we woke up 930, to get back home to go to work. their next trip up will definitely be a beach day! :)
