canadian, eh...

poutine; such a canadian staple. last thursday, i really, really felt like poutine for dinner, but i put aside my cravings, figuring it would pass, and i gave myself a high five! "yes, i'm saving my waistline and my health! i can do this", i thought to myself. i made myself some pancakes, but i put too many strawberry pieces, which made it too watery and then i ended up putting all the batter in the pan at once to make a giant one, and well, ya, it didn't work out. i ended up eating cheese and crackers.
friday i got home from school and since i was still craving it, proclaimed to dylan, "i need poutine for dinner! i'm clearly meant to have it!" never one to turn down the goodness that is cheese curds, fries, and gravy, we were on our way. i stuck to the regular size traditional poutine, but of course dylan couldn't. he's a big guy with a big appetite. he ordered the WOW size pulled pork poutine. of course he did. after we got our container of fat, it was approximately 1001 degrees in the restaurant, and a beautiful, cool fall day outside, we took our food and walked around the corner to a side street and sat on the curb and went to town.

i know some of you who have never heard of poutine are thinking this looks absolutely horrendous.

mine looks small in comparison (which it's not), but i guesstimate that dylan's is about 3x larger than mine. pulled pork poutine: 1, dylan: 0. he couldn't finish it, but he came pretty close.

we picked up some of our favourite doughnuts to bring to my parents when we went for indian on saturday. go ahead, laugh at the name lol

1 pb & j was already eaten pre-photo! but on the top, we have orange chocolate, and maple glaze. on the bottom, coffee cake, fluffer nutter, and a classic cinnamon sugar. i was so sad they were already out of the pumpkin cheesecake doughnuts by the time we got there! :(

we like food and we like the good stuff.

+10 in the style department...

i finally found a pair of colored skinny jeans that, a) look good and fit good, and b) were cheap ($29 from h&m). while they look blue in the picture, they're actually purple and i kind of love them. and i got new shoes too, which are pretty cute. they're actually for work, but i'll most definitely be wearing them outside of work too.

still looking for red skinnies though...

a walk through the park...

you know what i noticed this weekend? that there's actually some leaves on the ground. and they're crunchy! random fact: i love crunchy leaves. i even joined a facebook group (back when people actually joined those) called 'i love the sound of stepping on crunchy leaves' or something along those lines. i got dressed in fall clothes for the first time this year (skinny jeans, black flat boots, a plum velvet belted blazer (kind of?) and a scarf and set out on a walk with chlo.

a second walk. more comfy shoes. more crunchy leaves.

fall came pretty quickly, and i'm certainly not complaining. seems it's here for good now, and not just random cold days in between hot ones. yay.

even though i'm busy working my butt off, of course i couldn't miss feet photo day! remember when i thought spring was here? it was all 17 degrees, tshirt wearing weather? ya, well that was all a joke, because lately i have been needing slippers to keep my feet warm! might help if i had pants on, or shut my windows, but i like fresh air and i prefer to wear shorts around my place with a housecoat or sweater. it's back down to about 5ish degrees and raining. oh well, at least i don't have to study with the sun being a tease outside, like "come take the dog for a walk, it's so nice out, you know you want to go window shopping..."

ps. i left my place at 830 today (and then came back home) to head for starbucks for the free pastry..expecting a HUGE line, and it was much shorter than expected..so i got my free lemon poppysead bread :) happy.

i was a little sad on tuesday that we didn't get to do the whole 'feet photo' thing, but that's ok, it was with good reason ;) but, without further ado, here's another round of feet photos. these pics are from my 2008 trip to nyc, don't mind the dirt on my ankles in the 2nd picture, i had been walking around all day lol
the salesman at macys was very good, and talked me into paying a lot more than i would usually pay for shoes haha but i actually get a lot of use out of these shoes and i love them!
