poppin' champagne...

friday night was a time spent with girl friends, wine, food, and celebrations. all for my bff diana. we were celebrating her grad from nursing, her getting a nursing job, and moving into an apartment!

the other girls got there a weeee bit late (ahem, 1.5hours!) so it was just me and diana eating outside...
then they showed up, and we had a good time. and stuffed our faces.
4 brunettes + 1 blonde...
the soon-to-be roommates!

i don't know what was in that homemade sangria (actually i do), but we were all half asleep on the couch by 9:30! a couple girls went out for a drink after, but me and 2 others went home. i was still super exhausted from my cold and i was getting one of my coughing fits (which seem to come at nighttime). but, it was a good night since i don't see my girl friends as much as i used to anymore. and honestly, i much prefer a night in like this, rather than a night at the bars.

dog days-WOOFstock...

this weekend, toronto held something called woofstock, which is north america's largest festival for dogs. it was the 8th year, and apparently over 300,000 people go. there are contests, pageants, talent shows, tonnes of booths, and lots of free stuff. so me and my girl friend took our 2 dogs and had a blast! honestly, i've never seen so many dogs. we were in heaven; turning to each other every .05 seconds saying "omg look at that dog!" "look over there, i want that dog" "look what that one's wearing!" and so on. it.was.fantastic. perma-grins on our faces the whole time. oh, and our dogs had fun too ;) because that's what was important haha we felt like bandits stuffing treat bag after treat bag after food bag after food bag into our purses until we could fit no more!

i took my nikon, but it was tough. i had it around my neck and was taking pictures on auto with my right hand while holding chloe's leash who is pulling in my left hand. so they are not the greatest. but here's a few..or maybe a lot.. because who doesn't love dogs??!

 pack of puli dogs
 giant in the back
 there's my girl
 cousins chloe and olive
 snazzy runners

notice the dog carrying his own treats on the left corner
both buggers wouldn't look at the same time
 flatiron building
he doesn't look comfortable. although his doggles are quite stylish
 *no comment* lol
i want! neopolitan mastiff. this pic makes him or her look small!
smiling with her free stuff. all of which was stuffed in my purse

see ya next year woofstock!! you were a blast .

from dolls to dogs...

just over a week ago, my girl friend diana got a new puppy; an 18 week old cairn terrier. as official aunt (just as she is chloe's aunt), i was quite upset i wouldn't be able to see my niece until i came back to my parents. luckily, i only had to wait about 5 or 6 days to see her. my parents were also dying to meet her (also major dog lovers), so on friday afternoon, everyone came together and it was one great big exciting meeting. (there may or not be picture overload) ((also, very hard to take pictures of a puppy who is a ball full of energy!!))
hi new bff, not sure what to think yet...
 of course my little rag-a-muffin isn't looking-brat!
 ahh i die! miss olive!
after about 5 minutes, they were chasing each other around the family room having a great time.
 just taking a little break

olive, you are too cute
we used to play with dolls, now we have dogs. we're growing up. *tear*

even though i have 4 day weekends, they go by far too fast...

considering this weekend was dedicated to writing my 20 pager, it was surprisingly good!
i went to forever 21 on thursday and it was a madhouse (hello march break!) and i don't know how i survived, but i ended up grabbing a cute summer dress, coral shorts and a plain white tee ($4 for a t shirt? i'll take it).
chalk art-the guys that do these drawings are so talented

friday all day i worked on my paper, then dylan decided to come over after work at 7.
i made cupcakes. we watched some criminal minds. then we went to bed.
then on saturday, he left at 9:30 the next morning to go back to work again.
i was stuck still working on my paper.
then my girl friend messaged me and asked if i wanted company for the night.
that was certainly welcome, i needed a break.
so we watched 27 dresses, drank sangria, and watched youtube/funny or die videos.
we also saw the supermoon. looked the same to me, but i guess now i get to be all cool, and say "yeah, i saw the supermoon that was the brightest in 18 years, DID YOU!?" maybe? i tried taking pictures of it.
 they turned out like this...
and this...
once again, when school is done, i am learning how to use that damn camera!!

oh, and i added formspring to the left there
in case anyone wanted to know...

24th birthday celebrations...

friday night involved cupcakes, vodka 7's, friends, way too much food, 2 tequila shots and a lemon drop shot (did i mention i don't do shots?!), a way too crowded bar, happy birthdays, and good times.
 kisskiss
mmm that tequila shot tasted *so* good! birthday girl on the left!
missed out on the dress memo
lemon drop shots. just down it.
love you bday girl!
doing the 'asian peace sign' on the left..explanation? nope.

there were no pictures taken at the bar. it was just too crowded and what not. but really, i can't believe we're all turning 24. i have known this girl since we were 2-we met in gymnastics and then ended up going to school together from grade school to high school to college then different universities.
and this is us in 1993. running from boys. *note that i still have those purple shorts. and sometimes i still wear them to bed* i'm the cutie in the flower shirt ;)

the bad, the good and the better...

first off, i'll tell you what i didn't do this weekend; watch the super bowl-no thanks.

dylan had been house sitting all week, so on friday i went over with my friend diana [we're a trio ;)] and we watched a couple hours of a criminal minds marathon. we all love that show. we had some chips, nachos and cheese and it was a good night.

saturday we got this crazy random blizzard and i wasn't planning on doing anything but homework all day/night, but i ended up going out with  my girl friends and dylan went to play poker. it's not that i plan on doing work at 11pm or anything, but my next day is really ruined when i got in at 4am the night before haha so i really debated whether to go or not.

buuut, i ended up going. the bad? the coat check ran out of hangers i guess and it was full! what gives? so i had to carry my damn coat around the bar the whole night. everyone else put them in a corner and left them, but i definitely wasn't leaving an expensive winter coat unattended. why did i wear an expensive coat? because it was a blizzard when we left and i wasn't about to stand in line with a flimsy coat. lose-lose situation.
the good? i spend $4 to get in, a friend bought me a drink, then i bought one myself. total-$9.50
the really good? i found $10 in the snow as we were leaving.
twins! nope, they totally didn't plan that. they work together, both finished at 10:30, changed at work, and happened to wear almost identical outfits! (fyi, it's an excellent way to get guys to talk to you haha)
don't worry, totally not a creeper in the back; it's dylans roommate, i just don't have long enough arms :P
a little bit of haggard bang separation on the way home
also, the cabbie was hilarious. apparently he 'loves chinese girls' and as the girl in the front (the one on the left in the first picture) got out, he yelled "I LOVE YOU!" it was a little weird, but funny nonetheless.

and of course, i got in at 3:30am and was up by 8am. couldn't tell ya why. but it happened to be my most productive day of the weekend. hmm...(i think it's because i had no choice!)

facebook brings back the memories...

i was looking at my friends old facebook albums last night and came across this...
it was posted on facebook december 6, 2006-assuming it was put on right away, we had been dating about 3 weeks here! ha. so young. i'll spare you the few photos before and after where i stuff a huge clump of nachos in my mouth and the whole thing is documented lol i think that's what sealed the deal for dyl haha a girl that likes food! ;)
also from 2006, july. my 19th birthday. i used to have my tragus pierced, as you can kind of see. i really miss that piercing. i kind of loved it, a lot.

i ended up looking at so many old albums last night. good times and good laughs.

memories in a box

while i'm here at my parents, the house is a disaster. they are painting every room in the house basically, new floors and carpets all over, new furniture and such...it's a hassle. in prep for getting my room done, i was going through all my cupboards and drawers and throwing away all the garbage/crap that i don't want anymore. as i reached my hand to the back of the cupboard, i pulled out this tiny little gift bag. at first i thought it was the bracelet i got my dad when i was a little girl, because it's in an identical bag. but this was something different. i read the little tag on the gift bag handle, and it says "for breanne and diana, don't open until 2005!!" i thought "OMG, no way!"
so out the bag comes this little trinket box. how cute? i opened it up and there's a tiny piece of paper that says "never be apart, promises" and then we both signed our names. i totally BBM'd her asap and was like "guess what i found!?" needless to say, it's a keeper!
blocking out our last names, you know, for safety ;) i can't believe this is from 1998! we met when we were 2 years old in gymnastics and have been best friends ever since (going to the same elementary school, high school, and even college for some time), so going on 21 years now, insane!
