cherry grove pier...

here's the last bit of our myrtle beach trip; a visit to cherry grove pier. there were a tonne of people fishing off of it, even though it was super windy, cloudy and fairly cool. we saw a bunch of fish being caught (a stingray and some chrome looking fish, to name a couple), and i was pretty grossed out/freaked out that that's so close to the shore/sad to see them flopping around.

the beach was still busy regardless of the weather.

i should hope not. no need to catch sharks (or any fish really).

while we're sad the trip is over, we're definitely looking forward to our next beach getaway. whenever that may be.

ps. happy thanksgiving weekend to the canadians out there :)

beach days...

all but 2 days were perfect weather. but that's ok because we used those as shopping days (finally part of the j crew club. holla!) and i did pretty good. between the gap, j crew and marshalls, i was able to get 2 pair of shoes, a cardigan, and a nice sweater for $76! anyways, back to the beach. we usually made our way down to park out butts by 10am and be a sun goddess for the day. i managed to get through 2 books, drink mimosas on the beach, and only get a burn on one day, which has since healed and left me with a nice little tan. i'm pretty sure i'm still pale by most peoples standard, but i'm the most tan i've ever been.

as for the ocean. oh boy, the aquatic life. it was quite terrifying. i went about ankle deep and that was that. people were fishing right at the shoreline and catching fish!! and dylan talked to a son and father fishing one night and he said they caught a baby shark. another person said it's only tourists that go in the ocean because they don't know what's in there. that's all i needed to hear! not to mention the minnows. god they scare the crap outta me and they're all around you by the millions. i stuck to the 4 pools, thanks.

taking in the sight of the ocean.
how my days we spent.
he said it was necessary to bury him.
then we gave him boobs and a belly.
ahhh perfect.
nice short lines, eh?
a perfect day.

drinking walmart wine in a water bottle. so much wrong with that.

onto mimosas.
thanks to the lady who offered to take our picture when she saw us with our phone in hand, arm stretched out!

last day :(

does this post win the award for having the most photos? i think it may, yikes. but being on a beach was so nice, and we really don't get to do it very often. long live tans, day drinking, and bathing suits!

it's like watching the night sky...

most of what we ate in myrtle beach was junky/crappy food. well, that's not completely true. when we first got there, we did some groceries and got stuff for breakfasts and lunches. typically, dinner was eaten out, with the exception of once or twice. one night, we decided to go to a nicer place and it did not disappoint. we sat outside looking at the docked boats and watching the beautiful sunset. the food was to die for, the service was great, and we all loved the atmosphere. i also tried crème brûlée for the first time and i about died. i'll be looking up a recipe and buying ramekins and a small torch asap.
dylan the paparazzi taking pictures of us walking in.

love you.
afterwards, we went for a walk on a pier.

enjoying a vacation from life.

i'm still thinking about the spinach and feta stuffed chicken, the mashed potatoes, the warm bread and butter, and the crème brûlée. oh the crème brûlée.

walkin' on the boardwalk...

when we showed up in myrtle beach, the weather was perfect; sunny, hot, and beach ready. we checked into our own condo and got settled in; our room was right next to my aunt and uncle. me and dylan had our own 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom condo with a fully stocked kitchen (not food-wise, but utensils, plates, cookware, etc). we couldn't believe it. not to mention a balcony that looked out to the pool and the ocean. also, we made use of the 2 bedrooms we had a couple of the nights due to someones loud breathing *ahem*

3 beds! the king size was glorious.
wyndham has 4 buildings, all of which have pools, and we had access to it all. one was even an infinity pool overlooking the ocean, which was pretty cool. once we got there and i saw the gym, i was all, "i'm totally going to use the gym every morning! i'm up before 7am anyways and we'll be eating like crap. yeah! gym!" then i realized i didn't bring gym shoes. so that idea lasted all of 5 minutes.

being tourists at broadway at the beach.

legs for days.
dinner at margaritaville.

nachos so big (and delicious) that 0/4 of us could even touch our meal when it got to our table.

loved feeding the cute little duck on the boardwalk!
