easter goodies..

more cake pops and pie pops! (idea taken from the amazing bakerella). seriously love that site.

the basket turned out pretty well-you can't really see all the cake pops that are in there, the pies are kind of taking over with their height. but both of these were a huge hit at easter dinner! and because it made so many, i have a lot here with me in toronto-to eat on my own; this may be a bad thing...

(you can see the last time i made the pops here. it's a bit more of a detailed explanation)

Those pie pops are ADORABLE! So here's the thing, I too love Bakerella (she makes my life, seriously) but apparently nowhere in Ireland sells those candy melt things and I can't find those lollipop sticks ANYWHERE (we're a bit behind - only have the flat wooden ones over here) and so I have never made a cake pop.

This makes me sad.

Are they easy enough to make though?

cute pie pops. I have seen them on bakerella and have always wanted to try them!

@Magpie-that's terrible! I would say do them without the sticks, but without the candy coating too, it kind of defeats the purpose lol but yes, they are very easy!! basically you crumble a cooled, baked cake, add in icing and roll into balls (put them in the freezer or fridge for a bit)-then dip into the melted chocolate and presto; they're done! :)

Hi! I found you on 20sb! My sister makes these all the time!

I love your blog! I'm trying to plan a trip to Toronto from NY for a Blue Jays game! How's the ride? (I noticed your post below.) Did you take Megabus?

I'm adding you to my reader!

@ Katie-thank you!

@ Christy-yeah I've taken megabus a few times from TO-NYC and it's great. I've never had a problem and I would much rather pay 14$ (or whatever cheap price you may get) for a return trip and take 10 hours then pay a couple hundred dollars for a flight! the only annoying part is crossing the border and everyone on the bus has to get off and go through with their bags & what not-but it's ok. I always take the overnight trips so I get into NYC in the morning and get more time. :)
