where you invest your love, you invest your life...

old quebec city wasn't exactly like i expected. i'm not going to sugarcoat it and say that 'omg, it was so fantastical and we loved every minute of it and we didn't want to leave' because that's just not true. while it was definitely beautiful to look at, a lot of things were up for sale/not open, and i found that it was mostly restaurants, and not really little shops like i thought there would be. so that's why we extended our trip to 2 nights and after checking out at 11am, we went to old montreal. it's on the way home anyways (3 hours away from old quebec), so it made sense.

saturday morning, our alarms were set for 3:20 am and we were out of the house by 4am. we stopped for coffee (to go) at a cafe that's open 24/7 365 days a year. then, we were on our way! the rental car we ended up getting was a black mitsubishi rvr, and it was a pretty nice little drive. we stopped in montreal around 10am for some breakfast and then got into old quebec around 1:30pm.
seeing it for the first time.
 our room at hotel sainte-anne.
out the window.
 the cards.

now that's what i called a christmas store.

and that right there is the first part of our anniversary weekend.

I'm sorry you didn't have the best trip....I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE (multiply that by a thousand) quebec and montreal...of course I may be biased because I grew up there. But quebec city does certainly have its charming and not so charming seasons....try going there in a month or two when the winter REALLY kicks in and you feel like your face is being pummeled with ice the minute you step outside ;)

aw man really? they must have changed it around a bit since the last time i went (2? 3? yrs ago) because when i went the only restaurants were down along the river and everything else was little shops. oh well, hope old montreal was nicer to you!
