a burberry splurge...

we had to take a little trip just out of the city this weekend and on our way there, we passed the new toronto premium outlets. it's too far out of the way to just go there any day, but we decided to make a stop on the way back. it's an outdoor mall, so luckily it was a nice, sunny day. we went into a few stores, wandered around, and found a mix of sales. some places had none (michael kors), where others had pretty decent ones (sunglass hut and j.crew. dylan was able to score a $70 button down for $20, though it still doesn't beat the one he got last weekend at the j.crew in the eaton centre, regular $80 for $12). anyways, moving on...

we were walking by burberry and i almost wasn't going to go in because i've been in a burberry in an outlet across the border and there were NO sales - we're talking $1000 umbrellas and  $800 gloves. but, we made our way in and floated around looking at things that are too expensive. i saw a few racks of trench coats and with a little coaxing, dylan got me to try one on. see, i was slightly against it because i've always wanted a classic trench and knew there was a chance i might fall in love if it fit. i tried on my size and of course, it fit like a dream. i was mad about that and that it actually looked good! dammit!

i took it off and decided, no, it's simply too much money. but then i thought about it - the deal, the fit, the perfectness of it. who knows if i would find this again? so we went back and dylan made me try it on again. it was originally $1350, on for $950, with an additional 50% off. and while i wanted to puke a little bit at the price, it just could not be passed on. and since i'm an unemployed bum while still in school, dylan bought it for me. he insisted, really, as i'm the frugal one and he has no qualms about spending.  as long as i don't grow much, i should be able to wear this coat for years to come ;)

the sun makes it look a little lighter than it actually is.

truer color.

ok photoshoot over.

i'm now one step closer to my dream of being a fantastically dressed woman working at a law firm downtown in the financial district! now, if only the weather will warm up so i start wearing this bad boy...

i'm with you on the pukey price but let's be honest here: THE FIT OF DESIGNER STUFF IS INCREDIBLE. i hate paying more than $30 for jeans but the designer jeans i have? FITS LIKE A GLOVE and makes my ass so scrumptious; something that old navy jeans has never done.
