[west] virginia, you so pretty...

our trip started at about 8:30 am on friday the 14th and we drove for about 8 hours the first day. a few things to say about america: there's bathrooms in the gas stations (pretty unusual here), and they're clean! (albeit, a bit weird), alcohol is so cheap, and i still can't get over the fact that milk comes in jugs (it's in bags here in ontario). virginia and west virginia are full of hills and rolling mountains, and it's so beautiful. i'm normally one to fall asleep as soon i sit in a car, but i survived a 15 hour trip, over 2 days, without falling asleep. i think i was afraid i would miss something, since i had never driven through these states before.
 road trip ready!
west virginia greenery.
driving, driving, just keep driving.
a crazy gas station washroom in north carolina. every inch of wall real estate was covered! and all for sale. um yuck.

on our way home from the trip, we were able to stop at a lookout in west virginia and it was incredible. i was in awe just looking out at the never-ending trees.

awesome.

soon enough, we made it to myrle beach and the vacation really started.

So glad you enjoyed your trip! I've driven halfway across the US, and while I may be biased since I'm an East Coaster, but I think you got to see some of the prettiest parts of the country :)

I'm biased since I'm from the Appalachians, butttt.. they are definitely beautiful! Hopefully, you got to check out some legit "Blue Ridge Mountains" while you were kinda in the area. Enjoy America!
