remembering the 90's (through movies)...

i was reading a discussion on 20 something bloggers the other day and it made me think about movies i loved as a kid. but not typical disney movies, or ones like say, the baby-sitters club. these movies are all a little quirky and maybe you haven't even heard of a couple of them. lets see...

an imaginary friend comes back to hang out with a young girl, but she's now much older than when they used to hang out. it's hilarious. it's totally hiding in my parents house somewhere and i need to find it so i can watch it ASAP. i remember a few christmas' ago, my mom scoured the city to find me a copy and she did.

another odd/hilarious/weird movie. it was on tv about a month ago and i had to stop channel surfing to watch it.

i think most people will remember this movie. movies were so good and cheesy back then.

not sure why i loved this movie, but i did. i remember thinking the boy in the bottom left corner with the white shirt was so cute.

i remember often watching this movie with my mom. whenever it came to end part where the girls sang and danced to "if you wanna be happy", me and my mom would get up and dance around the family room too.

this movie is really weird and not very well made. and i definitely didn't watch it when i was a kid, like the rest. i think i was in high school. i don't even know why i like this movie. this (creepy) man keeps this woman in his house because he loves her and eventually amputates her arms and legs so she can't get away (he's a doctor).

clearly i have a thing for movies from the 90's. although the latest movie was 1993 and i would have only been 6, so i likely watched these towards the mid to late 90's. good times..

do you remember any of these movies? do you have any 'not-so-normal' favorite movies from when you were a kid?

YAYAYAAAYYY!!!! Drop Dead Fred! My favorite movie when I was little. It was funny, raunchy, and just fun! Rick Mayall is an amazing character actor! And perfect for this role! Now supposedly, Russell Brand is starring in the remake, due out ????? First heard about it a couple years ago. Now, I want to go watch this movie ... and a few other on your list!

i've never seen any of these except for sandlot...apparently i'm missing out. but i'll admit that the kid on the bottom left in the white jersey is pretty cute - same with the kid in the middle :)
