school is in session...

in a few short hours, i'll be sitting in a classroom, waiting for my first class. in honor of that, yesterday we went out for breakfast at a place i've had bookmarked on yelp for quite some time and is listed as one of the best brunch spots in toronto; school. along one of the brick walls, they have about 20 clocks all set to 3:30, indicating the the time school usually lets out. on another wall, they have a large screen that plays cartoons (it was bugs bunny when we were there). as for the food, there are plenty of options, both savory and sweet. it was a tough call, but i think i made the right choice. and dylan quite enjoyed his, too.
menu on a clipboard. too many options. (though we didn't order any cold drinks, they're served in beakers and flasks which i thought was cool)

dylan got the bbq pulled pork hidden under 2 poached eggs, hash browns, and a jalepino cornbread muffin.
i opted for the 'sweet' side of the menu and got the black and blueberry buttermilk pancakes with quebec maple syrup and whipped cream.
it was devoured in no time.

the thing toronto lacks is a good, cheap, greasy spoon $5 breakfast. however, i can appreciate a delicious, well-crafted, more pricey breakfast once in a while. at $50, it was definitely the most we've ever spent on breakfast, but i can totally understand why there is 125 reviews on yelp about this place and why the majority of people rate it 4 or 5 stars. it's worth it.

I am just about to finish week three of my semester; it's definitely stressful but this quote by Earl Nightingale always makes me feel better: "Don't let the fear of the time it will take to accomplish something stand in the way of you doing it. The time will pass anyway; we might as well put that passing time to the best possible use."
I'm so excited for you, you will do great! Best of luck!
