rollercoasters & water parks & funnel cakes, oh my!

today, dylan and i are off to wonderland! it's been years and years since i've been in the summer. and even at that, i've been with girl friends; never with dylan. the times we've been together have been in october when it's fearfest time (see here and here) and the park is transformed into mazes and walking zombies. good times. but, dylan has 2 free tickets, so yay! i think it's going to be pretty nice today (about 25̊C), so we'll probably spend some time at the water park part, too.

and this is chloe yesterday. she's vocal. very vocal. i know it sounds terrible, but she's been like that since she was a pup. just how she plays!

underneath it all...

since i'm still unemployed (i say still like it's been a year, it's been like, a month), i took it upon myself to clean out one of my drawers. the drawer that is stuffed to the brim of pj's, bras, undies and socks. when it was piled on the bed, i was kind of shocked how much crap fit in there..

that's a big pile o' stuff...

 is it normal to have this many pairs of socks??

so yeah, not only have you seen my underwear and bras, you've seen my dog wearing them. i went there. and i'm not ashamed.

but, what it broke down to:

-66 pairs of ankle socks (only ankle socks are acceptable & only 1 single sock!); 1 pair of legwarmers, and 1 pair of black socks (i hate black socks)

-4 sets of pj's (i get sets all the time, so i must throw out random tops or bottoms??)

-7 shorts (what i live in at home)

-16 bras/bandeaus 

7 nighties 

-5 tshirts/long sleeved shirts

-5 workout tops + 1 pair of workout shorts (errr, i don't work out)

-and other random undies and tanks

and there you have it.

a step in the right direction...

today, i just want to say how happy i am. i know i'm not american, but that doesn't matter. new york did the right thing. now, if only the other states would follow suit. marriage is a right that everyone deserves. bottom line. to me, there's no argument. love is love. how can one be against it?? you are then basically saying that straight people deserve more rights and are better than gay people. oh please.

puerto backyarda...

when i'm at my parents, i like to spend a lot of time relaxing in the backyard, weather permitting, of course. it really makes me wish i had a backyard at my place in toronto. but that will just have to wait until i move on up in this world.

new spectacles, goggles, glasses...

before i graduated, i had to make sure to get in any last appointments before i wasn't covered under my dad's benefits anymore ;) like the dentist and eye doctor. if you didn't know, i've had glasses since i was about 7 years old. i wore them straight until i started high school, and since then, it's when i'm reading, or driving at night, or feel like i need them. yes, i've tried contacts years ago, but i fainted when the doctor put them in. it's true. and i never tried again. it felt so damn weird. so i had my red glasses for about 6 years and even though the eye doc said my prescription barely changed, i still opted for new ones, for a change. and my mom bought them :) i'll probably still wear my red ones the odd time though, because i do love them. i was so excited to get the call telling me they were in!

lady gaga lovin'...

sunday was a pretty darn good day. there was a red carpet festival on bloor st with food and a concert amongst other things..

 there was an exotic car show..

 a band playing; i think called 'royal wood'-pretty good. you can see a quick video i took of them here.

and a nearly naked painted guy. because why not? i think he was smiling for my camera ;)

then, i made my way towards the much music building on queen st. the much music video awards (MMVA's) were that night and i thought i would just check out the stage. it didn't even cross my mind about rehearsals. i should add that it's an outdoor award show, so the street is shut down and the stage takes over. as i'm maybe half a block from the stage, i can hear lady gaga's 'edge of glory' playing. i was thinking it was either a recording they were using for practice, or they were just playing music for all the fans waiting. then i see girls running. so i pick up my pace and push through the crowd. had i been able to push my way 1 foot to the right more, i would have been able to see her. but no. it finished, and some people dispersed. i stayed. then, she started rehearsing all over again!! and i got to see it all perfectly!! honestly, i was SO freakin' happy and excited. i love love her!! i've seen her in concert once, and it was amazing. she is so incredible live. i only wish i had my nikon with me!!

i also saw far east movement (like a g6) and dev perform (she sings that song "i like my beats fast and my bass down low"), kat graham, and i think others i didn't know. i'm going to guess i was the oldest one there by at least 7 years lol they were all little teeny boppers! the one time looking 16 benefits me! wooohooo i don't stick out like a sore thumb!

then, later on at like 7, i went down through yorkville and about 15 people were around this hotel and apparently waiting for lady gaga. so i thought what the heck, i'll stay for a few minutes. maybe 10 minutes later, she drove out! her head sticking out the front passenger side window waving to everyone! ah, 2x in one day at totally different spots. love.

iphone photo. really wish i had better photos :| trying to watch in person and look at the screen to take a picture makes it difficult. plus, it was a moving car.

so, if you didn't know before this post, you know now. yes, i love lady gaga!! i buy magazines when she's on the cover. she is amazing. her voice is incredible. her piano skills are crazy. and i love everything that she stands for.                                                       equality for all.

board games and sangria induced blogging...

hi all. care to see my weekend through photos? it involved drinking. which is unusual for me. but it's summer. so it's ok. not gonna lie. it's currently saturday afternoon, and i'm a bottle of sangria in while writing this. maybe i should go get another bottle? (i'll be sure to proof read for any spelling errors). anyways...

friday night: hanging out with a friend who moved back to toronto. me and 4 guys (well, 3 + dylan). vodka 7's and port. whiskey for them. hockey video games (i scored the only goal for our team. booyah). risk: lord of the rings version. and lord of the rings soundtrack. oh yes. 

 saturday. i went out for a walk and ended up buying a bottle of sangria. good thing i had lots of fruit at home. strawberries, raspberries, a nectarine, and maraschino cherries. poured a glass and sat on my porch. at this point, my mom would have called me an 'al-co-holic' for drinking alone. joking, of course. but then another girl from the house came out. with wine. so i was no longer drinking alone. fair enough. i drank the whole bottle, either way. which is where i am now. about 2 sips left. and all the fruit. maybe i should have got a 2nd bottle? it's only $5.95. now i know $5.95 gets me drunk. excellent. 

so, there you have it.  i'm actually currently seeing double on my keyboard, and have just dropped a piece of nectarine on my keyboard, which went sliding across. and now i have sangria splashes on my white tank top. oh boy, i'll stop now.


hope you enjoyed my weekend post, written while almost drunk! :P that's a first...actually, i totally got the spins about half hour after i wrote that, and then took an hour nap. what a saturday.

it's fridaaaaay. can i get a vicki inspired wooohoooo??! i think me and dylan are going to plan a little camping trip soon, likely just for the 2 of us, and probably just for one night. with him working weekends, it makes it tough. but, it shouldn't be too hard to plan something for one night! as long as i get at least one trip in this summer, i'm happy.

awesome:
-getting a call for an interview.
-woofstock. being around hundreds of dogs.
-free samples all around toronto. pizza, starbucks drink samples, shampoos and conditioners, burts bees cream, string cheese, drinks...
-real hosuewives of OC. just watched the whole 6th season in about a week. please tell me alexis isn't invited back; i can't stand to listen to the stupid shit that comes out of her mouth one more second. it's 2011, not 1950.
-the weather. the sun. the heat.
-a friend of me and dylan's from college that moved back to toronto this week. i know dyl is super stoked for this. we'll probably grab a drink on a patio tomorrow.
-3 new books from my favorite used book store. all true crime ;) actually, one is about the 'psychoanalysis of destructive people' - think criminal minds, but real. i'm excited for that one.


awkward:
-answering the phone, as mentioned above, and my phone RESTARTING mid call!!! (this is awful, not awkward). i died. i looked at my screen and it was black with a little white apple on it. i'm staring there, my heart pounding hoping it turns back on, meanwhile searching online for the phone number i need to call back. thank gosh that worked out. but seriously phone, talk about the worst time ever to do that for the first time.
-interviews. period. i haven't been to one in, oh, 7 years...
-taking chloe out for her nightly pee, walking back to my place, turning around and seeing a shadow real close. heart pounding thinking someone is following me. realizing it's my own shadow.

 awkward is also spilling milk like a 2 year old.

dog days-WOOFstock...

this weekend, toronto held something called woofstock, which is north america's largest festival for dogs. it was the 8th year, and apparently over 300,000 people go. there are contests, pageants, talent shows, tonnes of booths, and lots of free stuff. so me and my girl friend took our 2 dogs and had a blast! honestly, i've never seen so many dogs. we were in heaven; turning to each other every .05 seconds saying "omg look at that dog!" "look over there, i want that dog" "look what that one's wearing!" and so on. it.was.fantastic. perma-grins on our faces the whole time. oh, and our dogs had fun too ;) because that's what was important haha we felt like bandits stuffing treat bag after treat bag after food bag after food bag into our purses until we could fit no more!

i took my nikon, but it was tough. i had it around my neck and was taking pictures on auto with my right hand while holding chloe's leash who is pulling in my left hand. so they are not the greatest. but here's a few..or maybe a lot.. because who doesn't love dogs??!
