i've gotten a few awards lately, so i figure i best get on it and do a post!

1) i was at the eye doctor years ago because i wanted to get contacts (i wear glasses the odd time). he put them in for me and i looked in the mirror (they were blue, i was excited). then i stood up and took about 5 steps and fainted. yep, i'm a fainter. i never got those contacts or tried them again. they just felt weird.
2) i hate mirrors in the bedroom. i only have a really small one that i can't see from my bed
3) i also hate mannequins, they freak me out
4) i have TMJ, i think. it started 5 years ago, lasted a few months, went away and now in the last month it's back, and it's a bitch
5) i'm obsessed with pictures. i have about 13,000 on my computer right now from the last 3 years or so
6) i also have a tonne of photo albums because i still develop a lot of my pictures
7) and i write on the backs of all my pictures-who is in it, where it is and the date-my mom makes me :P
8) i'm an only child and i've always wished for a brother or sister
9) i think the ipad is stupid and i don't see the point of it; especially with the itouch, the iphone and mini laptops...
10) i really, really love m&m's and i haven't had any in a while...sad

ok well, in 10 years, i will be about to turn 33 (wow!). I hope to be married, with 1 or 2 kids; living a nice home with a fantastic kitchen to cook and bake in-with all the fancy gadgets from williams sonoma too! I hope to be in a job that i love, where i want to go to work every day. I want my student loans paid off!! I hope to have traveled a bit and  hope that i went on that roadtrip that i've wanted to do. hopefully, i'll have enjoyed the last 10 years and maybe lived in NYC for a bit too..

i miss toronto...

it's another fairly boring day at my parents. they both have their cars and are at work. and there's nowhere for me to really walk to, like there is in toronto.
i got a bunch of pictures developed yesterday, so my only plan so far is to write on the back of them, date them, and put them in the photo album.
and tomorrow i'm stuck here too because the carpet guy is coming and i need to be home. he's going to be like 5 hours. awesome...
i guess i could start getting lists together for the cottage (food, clothes etc), but that will take all of about 10 minutes.
maybe i'll bake something...

**5 days till the cottage**

wasting time...

while in the process of cleaning out my room at my parents house, i got the chance to go through all my old photo albums-i was moving them all to the basement for the time being while i get new flooring and everything is being cleared out. anyways, me and dylan sat in my room for a while and just looked at them. it was so funny to see how i have and haven't changed over the years. i found these pictures of us from october 2008, just a regular day for us...

carbs all around...

last night, me and 4 of my girlfriends went to a nearby restaurant for some drinks and appetizers. appetizers are 2 for 1 all summer! so we got 4 appetizers and it was only $23; can you beat it!? we got some beer battered onion rings, nachos, spinach and cheese dip and kettle chips with onion/blue cheese/bacon. yep, all carbs, all crap=it was good.

we were talking about the cottage and stuff and getting excited about it..can't wait! we packed it in once we couldn't eat anymore and the mosquitoes started coming out-gross. 

on another note-anyone else as obsessed with the Ne-Yo song "beautiful monster" as i am? i freakin love it, it's been on repeat all night and morning. also, the Eminem/Rihanna song "love the way you lie" - i'm not sure about it yet, i love her part and wish it was a whole song, but i just feel like they're 2 completely different songs put together..meh...i'll have to give his new cd a listen. it's sitting in my itunes.

memories in a box

while i'm here at my parents, the house is a disaster. they are painting every room in the house basically, new floors and carpets all over, new furniture and such...it's a hassle. in prep for getting my room done, i was going through all my cupboards and drawers and throwing away all the garbage/crap that i don't want anymore. as i reached my hand to the back of the cupboard, i pulled out this tiny little gift bag. at first i thought it was the bracelet i got my dad when i was a little girl, because it's in an identical bag. but this was something different. i read the little tag on the gift bag handle, and it says "for breanne and diana, don't open until 2005!!" i thought "OMG, no way!"

 so out the bag comes this little trinket box. how cute? i opened it up and there's a tiny piece of paper that says "never be apart, promises" and then we both signed our names. i totally BBM'd her asap and was like "guess what i found!?" needless to say, it's a keeper!

 blocking out our last names, you know, for safety ;) i can't believe this is from 1998! we met when we were 2 years old in gymnastics and have been best friends ever since (going to the same elementary school, high school, and even college for some time), so going on 21 years now, insane!

sometimes we do odd things...maybe inappropriate..sometimes, just gross.it's like a weight loss success story! i lost 6 pant sizes, yo. ha (i really should have closed that closet door, very messy!)princess consuela bananahammock, perhaps?? i was really hoping no one was going to walk out of the house at this moment, or walk by the sidewalk even...that would have been awkward lol...
this was just gross..dylan was peeling after spending too much time at the beach a week ago (without SPF) and asked me to peel it off...yaaa..he was pretty happy, but i, on the other hand, felt differently. by the time we/i was done, there was a pile of skin that would make goldmember proud haha you can go barf now.

playing housewife..

today, it's absolutely beautiful. it's a perfect morning-sun is shining, sky is clear and blue and there's a slight breeze. however, i will be doing a few things before i can enjoy the day...

doing some laundry-930am and i've already got one load in the dryer-go me! via

packing-for 2 weeks at home, and it has to include all the stuff for cottaging..oh i hate packing...via

 dusting and vacuuming..i often wear crowns and bunny ears too, oh, and high heels..via

and just cleaning in general (i loved this spread VB did in Glamour magazine; she looked freakin gorgeous, not like she doesn't look gorgeous everyday anyways...) via

doesn't it all sound super exciting? hopefully i can be done around noon or 1..that way i have a few hours before my mom gets here around 7pm to take me home.

someday, chloe will be a star...

i was taking chloe for a walk earlier in the week and she was leading the way, and i ended up taking her on a bit of a different route than usual. i turned down a street and saw a bunch of filming trucks and knew something had to be going on (there is always filming in the neighborhood of some sort). i kept walking a bit and sure enough, there was something being filmed! so i stood there across the street watching for a bit with other people and found out it was for the show "being erika"-i've heard of this show, but never seen it (it's Canadian). it kind of neat to see; it was a keg party scene and i got to see some of the main characters on the show. (you should be able to enlarge the pic-in the middle picture, the girl on the left is 'erika') a bunch of people on set came over and talked to chloe-she always draws the attention. but i don't know, people still aren't offering to use her on sets? what gives? is she not pretty enough?

a couple of weeks ago too, they filmed the CTV show "flashpoint" on my street, really close to me actually. i love that i get to see all this stuff, it's pretty neat-o. i'm always on the lookout of what's coming up next. a movie with seth rogen and michelle williams is supposed to start filming in toronto in july, so maybe i'll get to see some of that too!

anyways, i'm off to study for the next 8 hours-midterm tonight on some boring theory stuff. at least it's a gloomy day...

so, a bunch of things really..

so today is a day spent studying! fun fun. i had a paper due yesterday (which was given a 6 day extension and still left it till the day before!) and i have a midterm tomorrow. summer school is a joy...in actuality though, it's really not that bad. like the class i'm taking for instance? it sucks, it's boring (the only thing good is the hot, young instructor ha!) and thankfully it's only about 3 months long. if i were to take it in the regular school year, it was a dreaded 8 months. so yes, in that sense, i'm happy to devote 2 hours every monday and wednesday to a summer class.

on thursday, i'll be cleaning my place up and packing up to head to my parents place for 2 weeks! since the next summer term doesn't start until july 5 (and the first term is done tomorrow), i figure i'll go home for a bit. plus, the whole G20 Summit thing is kind of scary. they've hired like an extra 10,000 cops, and previous summits have been known to have violence and tear gas (i think) and other not good stuff-hm, that's not very grammatically correct; oh well. it's all happening fairly close to me and the university is even shutting down because the protests happen at Queens Park, which is somewhat in the middle, off the side kind of, of campus. so i'll be hightailing it out of here!

i'm also getting so excited for cottaging in a few weeks!! weeee. i can almost start looking at the 2 week weather forecast, even though i know it won't be very accurate 2 weeks in advance. although i still need bathing suit bottoms, and i'm really not willing to pay more than $15 or so. all i'm looking for is plain black, and it's surprisingly hard, dammit. i went to h&m about 2 weeks ago to try them on, sometime after i bought my cute bathing suit top, and i grabbed a couple different styles, sizes 2 and 4 and went to change room. i go to put the 2 up my leg, it doesn't get past my calf!!! what!!? it seriously did not go past my knee hahah who fits in this?! even the 4-forget about it! and then i left and got some starbucks haha

lastly, there is fountain by my house and chloe just loves going in it. it was finally filled yesterday for the summer and i can't wait to take her for a little 'dip' later on when it warms up. i could only let her in the shallow part yesterday because i didn't have time to dry her before class if i were to let her go in the deep part. but today-she can do whatever she wants! :)

aww, she was loving it, it was so hot out. sadly, i had to drag her out to head back home :(

i'm cheating on dylan-with fred...

i have a real love for fred products. i actually haven't bought anything yet, but i ohh and ahh every time i walk in a store that has the products! ha
**i guess i should say that i am writing this on my own, i haven't received anything from the company, they have not contacted me, i have not contacted them, or anything in between, i just think they have really cool products. i'm not sure whether that statement was necessary, but i figure i should cover my bases just in case.**
i thought i would share a few of my favorites; i'm sure i would have a kitchen full of this stuff if i didn't live in the tiniest kitchen of life (i'll have to show it one time-seriously, it was a closet..).

you pour coffee into the molds, freeze them and then put them in your iced coffee! that way regular ice doesn't water it down-brilliant! look how cool it looks!

i love this one! i want it-for my birthday maybe? (hint, hint dyl ;) or tell my mom to get it as part of my gift). it's so neat and would totally become my coffee cup every day.

absolutely love this one too-what am i saying, i love all the stuff i'm posting-duh! i've seen this at indigo (a huge bookstore chain in canada) and am obsessed with it. it's glass, and i look at it every time i go in. it would look great in my apartment, just sayin...

 dylan can make me this breakfast and pretend that we're in paris! ha!

these would be perfect for our cottage trip next month. i'm sure after a few drinks, everyone would find these even more funny.

visits from a friend

me, dylan and our friend jesse all went to college together. then dylan went to Mac and me and jesse went to U of T. last year, he transfered out east, but he's here for just over a week to visit all his toronto friends.see, everyone we know likes to make funny faces, it's contagous!playing an intense game of liars dice.the dice are comin for yawe took a walk over to kensington market because it was another beautiful day.this car is always here; never leaves. dyl took a picture of jesse taking a picture.any place that i pass that has red velvet anything, i will try. i'm on the hunt for the best in toronto. most fail miserably. if any place serves it with buttercream frosting, they're automatically OUT (said it before, say it again-cream cheese frosting only people!!). dessert lady is still hands down the absolute best i've ever tried. but this little gem in the picture is from wanda's pie in the sky in kensington market. let me tell you, it is in a very close second! the cream cheese icing was soo good, it had a little big of a twang to it, i'm not even sure what it was. if it was just a little bit, and i do mean little, moister, it could have been tied for first ;)semi-forced smiles because we were so full from our mexican lunch haha

sorry camping, you got one-upped...

a few weeks ago, i mentioned we had picked a date for our camping trip. then when i told my mom, she had said it was her 30th anniversary and they needed me to stay home and watch the animals (she had told me this before, but it somehow slipped my mind-oops). so, the camping date had to be moved. somehow, with that happening, the idea of a cottage came into the picture, and about 13 more people were added to the group! so now we are all booked for a 22 person chalet in blue mountain! we're going at the beginning of july and i'm super excited! 3 nights of a nice getaway! we have our own hot tub, sauna, ping pong table, bar area, fireplace (even though it's summer, i love fireplaces!), private beach, and about a 10 minute walk away from the main strip with bars and a bigger, main beach (wasaga beach) and we get to live on hot dogs and burgers for 4 days :):) oh, and of course sangria and vodka 7's ;)

in other news; my friend is coming up to go shopping today. she's got her pinning ceremony for her nursing program on friday, so she's looking for a dress! :)

i got this award from Stacy at Stacy Says. thank you! she makes me LOL, or say OMG, or WTF or some other acronym pretty much every day! i'm supposed to tell you 5 random facts about me and then pass this on to 5 bloggers/blogs I think are stylish. so lets see what i come up with...

1) i hate sheets; i've slept with only a comforter for years and years now. i couldn't stand waking up at night and feeling all the sheets rumpled at the bottom of the bed. *cringe*
2) that being said, i have to sleep with something on me. no matter how hot i am, i will have a blanket on me, and then i will complain about being hot. i think it's a safety thing.
3) and while we're on the topic of sleep, don't touch me when i sleep; not with your leg, arm, finger-nothing. (sorry dyl)
4) i also can't stand listening to people breath loudly/snore when they sleep and i am also trying to sleep. it's probably the worst thing ever and drives me mentally insane. i end up elbowing dylan numerous times throughout the night to "stop breathing" haha
5) and well, this turned into 5 random facts about my sleeping habits (probably because it's midnight and i'm not sure why i'm still up), but i have to fall asleep with the tv on. i set the timer for an hour, but 96% of the time, i fall asleep within 1-2 minutes of my head hitting the pillow.

i must say, this weekend was a good one. friday, i spent the day doing some readings for school and such and that's pretty much it. then saturday, 2 of my girlfriends came up for a visit. they both had to work until 6 and 7 and then get ready and then come to toronto, so they got here around 930 at night. we had some drinks, listened to 80s music while hanging out and then called a cab and headed to Tatoo Rock Parlour on queen w. the first time i went was last year for my friends leather and lace themed birthday. it was still just as good. the music is like old school rock and some new stuff. then they throw in journey, shout (a little bit softer now..), twist and shout and you got yourself a good night of girlfriends and dancing.tequila shots for my friends..none for me!she's pretty happy :)didn't even realize we were locking arms hahahaving a pretty good timemy friends are pretty, then we decided to make 'surprised' faces, for whatever reason..

and a quick 15 second video, we had no idea a video was even taping lol that always makes things better!

of course when we left it was pouring rain, thank god we had our jackets to put over our heads. all we wanted was pizza, or a falafel, but sadly, we didn't pass anything. we kept walking and walking and all of the cabs were taken! our feet were hating us. finally, about half way home (or a 20-30 minute walk, due to slow steps in heels), we got a cab. we got home still hungry at about 3am, called numerous pizza places and they were all closed. finally we found one, ordered a large and just waited. we watched the movie disturbia (still love that movie) in the meantime and the pizza finally got here at about 435 am!! ahhh seriously?! we ate up and then by the time we finished and were ready to go to bed, it was 530 and the sky was lighting up lol we were dying. then they had to get up at 10am, even though we woke up 930, to get back home to go to work. their next trip up will definitely be a beach day! :)

how to serve sangria...

one afternoon last week was spent like this...drinking sangria on the porch...cut up lots of fruit, and make a kiwi garnish if you're feeling really fancy...

crush ice old fashioned way because there is definitely no ice crusher in this apartment (hey, look at that, i used my hammer again!) --nice double chin i have in the pic..:S

pour the real sangria (as opposed to???!) into each glass. we normally go with Boones sangria, but thought we would try this new one, it's got more alcohol which can never be bad! and it tasted even better in my opinion! woot woot..and at $6.95 a bottle, can't beat it.

enjoy your glasses on the porch on a hot afternoon, get a little drunk and then go to class later ha. works for me!
