ringin' in the new year...

back to toronto tomorrow with dylan ..for new years!
we plan on heading out around noon-ish and we will have the day to hang out, do whatever, and then go for drinks and have a good time at night!
looking for an outfit was not fun--i had got a skirt in the summer that i planned on wearing, but didnt have a top, so i searched for one today, and found nothing to my liking..big bummer. but i did find a top at h&m and im gonna wear black leggings with it...see, where we are going, im not sure if its going to be casual or steppin it up a bit-so i think i am safe either way with this..however, it is supposed to rain tomorrow, which means bad bad things for my hair ha...
anyways, im painting my nails now, getting ready for bed...

christmas = done..

well, dylan loved everything i got him! which im happy about (sweater and scarf he is wearing, the frame and a wallet)...and i loved what he got me too, hes always worried, but hes got good taste ;) i got new converse runners, 2 sweaters and a handmade notebook from etsy as a 'journal' for the both of us, to kind of write things we do together and such.

after christmas dinner, we came home and took some ridiculous pictures while the tripod was still set up and while we were waiting for my parents to start a movie-those will definitely be posted, probably tmrw, they involve a wig, and dancing..

today=driving around in parking lots and braving the boxing day sales. i went with dylan this morning about 1030, he worked at 12, so we had some time to walk around. bought nothing, no great sales or anything worthwhile. then my friend picked me up when i got home and we went to another mall-omg, the parking lot was INSANE!! we must have drove around for about 20 minutes and luckily, got the best spot right in front of the 2 stores we wanted. forever 21 had some good stuff, i was going to get 3 tshirts @ 4.50 each and 2 nail polishes (woop-di-dooo! ha), but since my friend wasnt getting anything, i decided it was pointless to wait in a long ass line for plain tshirts-that werent even on sale. i can get them when i go back to toronto..

tonight is just relaxing. im finishing a book, starting a new one, watching some real housewives of atlanta-its all good!

i had forgotten about the potluck i had with my girlfriends!

we had far too much food!!! but it was all delicious non the less! wine/sangria=rosy cheeks for me ha

well, santa came and went another year... MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!
i cant believe how fast it came-seriously, wow.
santa was very good to me once again, and im sure he was to everyone else too ;) my favorite part has got to be the stockings-i get 3..and i love it! ha
cant wait for dylan to get here so we can exchange our gifts! then its off to my aunts to feast!!
boxing day sales?!? geez, i dont even want to think about it..that means that school is right back around the corner again..
the only thing that sucks...no SNOW!! what gives?!?
oh well, everyone enjoy the day and relax! ! !

it took us 28 tries to get a decent photo-we used #26 i think..and even at that, chloe isnt looking at the camera..damn dog! lol
surprisingly, even though we mailed them yesterday, my grandma got hers in the mail today-talk about speedy service.we tried some standing up-chloe is yawning..we tried some sitting in a chair-chloe is giving the elvis lip...suuure-when im not in the picture, chloe looks right at it.then we tried some on the ground-and chloes hat covered her eyes and she stuck out her tonge-and dyls eyes are drunk..and my hand is awkwardy between my legs-FAIL on all accounts.finally, we picked this one-chloe isnt looking, and she is flashing her lovely bare belly-but what are you gonna do eh? lol


its only being given to both our parents, grandparents, some of his aunts and uncles and 2 of our friends. it started as kind of a joke, but we actually kind of like it ha new family tradition!

what a busy weekend..

my aunts birthday party on friday, baking and cleaning on saturday for my girls potluck and secret santa party, and then sunday was spent relaxing, reading and then my grandpa's bday get together for cake later that night.

today, while my mom is at work and my dad is in and out, dylan and i are going to try to take our picture with the dog in front of the tree so we can send out a card! ha.

we will see how that goes..i have a feeling it will be hard to get chloe to look at the camera...hmmm

so im home!! i came back to a fully christmas decorated house..which i love.
yesterday i decided to try my cupcake moulds with some funfetti cupcake mix i had. i wanted to make sure the moulds worked out ok before i made them for someone on the 23rd.

the gingerbread men were the hardest to decorate i found-plus, i only had 2 colors to work with-white and green. yes, i could have died icing with food coloring, but i was using icing out a can with all the toppers that make it come out funky-so, not an option.

pretty fun day if you ask me. and i think they turned out pretty swell, and yummy too!

all papers, exams and what not--finito, complete-its a joyous day-a month and a half in waiting (well obviously the semester was 3.5 months, but the last month and half have been bruuutall!!!)

after my final this morning, i finished dylans gift, bought a gift for the secret santa, went to indigo to buy 2 xmas cards and at the cash my total was $18, so i said no thanks and picked 2 not so expensive ones..a little ridiculous if you ask me...

now, im home...relaxing with chocolate cake i made yesterday!!! :):):)

and later, i have to pack and clean to go home tomorrow for 3 weeks !

life is good right now.

slow dancing in a burning room..

last night dylan and i went to see fireworks again at nathan phillip square. during the day, i had made a playlist on itunes of some of my fave songs-most ended up being slow-ish, chilling, relaxing songs. so after we came home, we put the christmas tree on, turned the lights off and just slow danced around the apartment. one of my new favorite songs was playing-michael buble, you and i...absolutely love it!
it was such a simple, romantic night. and i loved it.

secret santa gift block...

so next saturday is our annual girls potluck/gift exchange (ill be heading home to my parents for 3weeks-ish on wednesday..yippie)..its our 5th year having it and this year its at my place (well, my parents...my place in toronto is far to small lol)...soo im making a caserole and red velvet cake!! oh boy, i cannot wait to make it again....i was watching ace of cakes the other night and they were making blue velvet cake for paula deen's birthday...and i thought, hey, i guess i could really put any color food coloring in...seeing as its already a 3 layer cake, i thought about doing the top and bottom layer red, as usual, and the middle one green...that way when you cut into it, it would look all fancy and cool....but then i changed my mind..im not sure people would appreciate eating green cake..even though its obvi gonna taste the same...it might be weird lol me..i wouldnt care..but some of these girls are picky lol so im going to stick to the normal red!

anyways, my point is...i have no idea what to get for the secret santa! we just decided the limit is $30 and we arent going to pick names this year because we cant all get together before hand to do that. so, that night, were gonna randomly pick one that we want, or play a game, or w/e.
last year we had a theme (pink), but this year, as of right now, there is no theme.
and i am stuck! i mean, everyone has different tastes, everyone is different sizes...its so hard!
we have done the pajamas, slippers, housecoat, nail polish, creams, bath stuff, scarf, clothes (when we had picked names), jewelry, and what not..and i just dont want to go the same route again. but i am drawing a complete blank.

and obviously, i dont have much time..i have probably tues, wed and thurs free next week..

the good news is..today, between reading, studying and paper writing, i got some shopping done!

woke up to snow and slush today--then it rained all day until 3 which made everything even more slushy and gross. anyways, i had final #2 tonight-- 2 1/2 hours..woo..tiring..it went pretty good i think! just happy it's done.

more christmas festivities..

we had a blast this past saturday--every saturday in december is the 'cavalcade of lights' in toronto at nathan phillip square--at 7pm there is a concert followed by fireworks at 8..this week the concert was jully black..she was pretty good. and the fireworks were totally impressive too.

friday night, dylan and i made a gingerbread house...not a perfect one, but we had fun doing it.

now, how long until we eat all the candy off of it? (i have already taken a bite out of one mans arm..shhh dylan has yet to notice hehe)

i'm a barbie girl...

i had heard a while ago that christian louboutin and barbie were teaming up, so i put my name on the mailing list, all the while thinking i would still never get one because there was only a certain number made. well i had completely forgotten about it until i got an email in the middle of the night (which when i read it in my sleepy haze, i didnt comprehend it). i then rechecked it this morning and it was on sale today!! so i called my mom at 830 this morning and asked is she was done my christmas shopping...cuz i had one more thing to add..she said she was mostly done, so we are gonna join forces on this one (the city anyone, join forces=whitneys blind date? no?).. so it should be arriving monday in a pretty little box! except, its also going to be under my tree until december 25! but thats ok...

there are also 2 more coming out in the new year..i wonder what they will look like!??

today i was wishing i was in nyc...

i was looking at how much it would cost to go friday night and come back saturday night..too short notice..therefore too expensive..

however..the christmas tree lighting from rockefeller centre was on tv tonight..so i watched it..with my little tree lit and a hot chocolate.
