ive been looking for a while...

ive wanted an old skeleton key for a while, to put on a necklace..

ive checked garage sales, flea markers-surprisingly harder to find than i thought..

the last few days, dylans said he has a surprise for me..

so, last night i picked him up, and he was wearing one around his neck..i knew right away it was for me! :-) ...jump to conclusions too soon? perhaps...

he cleaned it up a bit, and put it on a chain for me..love it..

it matches pretty well with the other necklace, so i wear them together now!

can i just say..

i think im in love with the missed connections part of craigslist...i just found out about this...

i wonder how many people reply.

this video may appear to be very old school (which it probably is), but let me tell you-its one trusty 9 minute video! -8 movements for 45seconds each-i find it works pretty darn good, and at the time when i did it for about a 3 week stint, i definitely noticed a difference...in saying that, i probably start up again. even the next morning, you can feel the difference...and who doesnt have 9 minutes in the morning or before bed?! the "come on gang" comments always make me laugh, and remember, "this will never hurt you" haha i just get 3 or 4 upbeat songs that i really like at the moment on my itunes, and turn the volume off on the video-that way, im thinking about the music and not about the burn...works for me anyways ;-)

darn cowlicks...

look at that wave on my bangs! i always try different ways of blowdrying, straightening, different brushes..nothing will give me nice flatter bangs..think LC style-flat, side swept...and, if by some means i manage-soon after, i get bang separtation lol im sure some know what that is...i guess i just have to learn how to embrase my darn cowlick and work it!

back to the busy city(& not toronto...)

last minute plans....


my mom and i decided to go to NYC next week (during her vacation) ! yay, im obvi super excited, as its my fave place!!! we checked out megabus, some flights and what not and i talked her into driving..i knew it would be the cheapest way and i actually love being the passenger..so it should take us about 8 hours or so, and were gonna leave monday morning around 6am..and come back either thursday or friday-thats the bonus of not flying or taking a bus-if we want to stay another night, WE CAN!

Maybe i can finally pick up my marc by marc jacobs purse i want..seeing as i havent been back to toronto in a while to get it at holt renfrew..and im sure there will be some other shopping, as im still looking for a dress for the wedding in novemer...

garden party..and other thoughts.

last night, my friend diana had the 2nd annual girls 'garden party'..shes got a cute little backyard, our girlfriends get together, we all bring food and hang out.
we had veggies and dip, salsa and chips, sandwiches with all the fixings, salad, pasta salad! we were so stuffed! then for dessert i made sex in a pan! amazing..and my other friend made canollis..they were dandy, seeing as ive never had one before.
we hung out all night and ate, and talked-and even played a boardgame...'loaded questions'-which is really just a game of random questions and answers and you get to know more about everyone, it was rather fun lol

on another note: work was totally dead today, and there was a lot of standing around and chatting..not really complaining for getting paid for not doing much, however, it makes for a liiitle bit of a long day-also; my shift during the week was cancelled due to the store being so slow...boo..now i have 5 days off lol what the heck am i gonna do for 5 days?!?

PS: bachelorette finale--poor kyp, reid-well i liked him, but it was a little late, and ed-well i think theyre good. the end was cute when they were talking, they seemed happy, but so does everyone 3 minutes after they get engaged lol

sometimes, being a girl sucks

like when that time of the month rolls around..the cramps kick in...isnt it lovely? not...

like i was already 10(!!) days late and my cramps made me leave work half way through my shift today--nothing new, i get them terribly every month :( so here i am, watching CSI, laying on my bed. ive got my trusty heat pad on my stomach..

ya, those handy little guys there work wonders..they stay hot for about 5 hours or so and then you just boil them back to liquid..i love them!

tonight, when im feeling better, ill be heading out for some food italian food with my girlfriends..oh what to wear!

girls and desserts

last night, me and my 3 girlfriends went out for some dessert.

now, the dessert selection process was a liiitle more difficult than needed....

the 3 of the girls all wanted this skor cheesecake that is supposed to be the bomb or something. so they go ahead and tell the waitress they would each like a piece...the response.."oh sorry, that isnt on the menu anymore..weve replaced it with such and such cheesecake.." which was then followed by "oh nos", groans, and sighs lol

so, while they were deciding how to fill the void, i figured i would tell her what i wanted-the chocolate cake...and what happens? ya, thats not on the menu anymore either!! like first off, who doesnt have chocolate cake?!? and of teh 4 desserts on the menu, 2 are no longer offered!? geeez...

the cake had been replaced with a fondu...asked how much it was, the girl said about $10-sold, me and another girl split it.

needless to say, it came and we were pleased-brownie pieces, sponge cake pieces, apples, strawberries, and pineapple..yumm yumm yumm!! and when the bill came, it was only $5.95!! thats totally cheaper than buying everything yourself and making it at home..like wow..total score for the night. so, we enjoyed our desserts, talked about girl stuff, our lives, school, the summer and everything else. twas a good night!

tonight, my bff (of 20 years-seriously, we met when we were 2 in gymnastics) came over to drop over my bday gift. she says im hard to buy for lol she ended up getting me these cute little juicy hair clips-weird, cuz the last few days ive been online at fun and fancy bobbypins...she read my mind! we normally dont even buy eachother bday gifts, but i guess bc she figured i didnt do anything extravagant on the weekend, and she couldnt make it camping, that she would.

cant wait to wear them! ...what i also cant wait for: getting my hair done tmrw-just the roots-majorly needed...

dylan got me a necklace from here and i absolutely love it! i had dropped a hint a few weeks ago-actually, thats a lie, i flat out told him i would love one and my birthday was conveniently coming up lol

i said it would be cute if i were to wear his initial. in the car on the way to camping, he handed it to me and i was super excited!

so, like i said, this past weekend i went camping-the weather was supposed to be crappy and i debated cancelling, but didnt-and its a good thing, because it didnt rain!
there was many drinks, spider dogs, chips, laughs, bugs, smores, my own person 'pee tree' (say what?), fire jumping and more...

waking up early in the morning for work...
when you havent had to do it for over 2 weeks...
now, im a morning person-but its different waking up early on your own, and waking up to an alarm because you have to...
and especially because its the day after my birthday..i dont want to work!! am i being too greedy now? lol maybe just a little...

well, i just got back from camping...what a great weekend!
now im just getting ready and then heading out to dinner with my parents and dylan for my birthday!! the big 2-2 today,,how exciting!
we took about 500 pictures this weekend lol wow we sure do like pics...

Betsey Johnson sample sale

just a few days ago, i got an email saying there was a betsey sample sale happening in NYC..for 3 days (wed-fri).dammit!

evening dresses for $75!?! um hello...

and what does dylan say? "its only an 8 hour drive, i can take work off?" lol what a good bf haha

seriously tho-i was really considering going...yaaa

now, honestly, im not usually a huge fan of too many of her dresses, but last week while in toronto with my mom, we went in (im looking for a dress to wear to a wedding in november).

i must have tried on 10 or 15 dresses-and let me tell you, ones that looked awful on the hanger turned out to be amazing! i was in awe of every one of the dresses i tried on. every single one fit like a glove and i wish i could bought them all!! theres a certain style im looking for-50s type dress, the kind that puffs out, but just above the knee-

i had pretty much narrowed it down to 2 dresses-one was the exact style i had wanted, it was silk and soft, and flowly and love! the other i had originally tried in black but needed a smaller size so i tried it on in blue to see how it fit and kind of loved it too-this one was more fun and bright.

what reminded me of this? well, i just got an email saying today is the last day :(

good news: i can still order them even if the store sells out of them. phew.

why i didnt buy one on the spot: well i couldnt make up my mind, and because its still so far away, i know more fall options will be coming out soon...

and today, we shop

so this morning, my mom and i headed to the states to do a little shopping-walden galeria-decent mall and only about an hour and a bit away.

we didnt buy anything,, sad, sad day lol buuuuttt we did have another fantastic lunch at the cheesecake factory-that place never disappoints!! :)

what i did find at bebe (which totally isnt my kinda store for the most part) was pretty much exactly what i have been looking for. the most fun, sexy, go out and have a good time kinda skirt!!

its that time of the year again...
no, not christmas...
not halloween either...
this sunday is my 22nd BIRTHDAY!!
(i totally just skipped a year and originally wrote '23' lol oops)
my plans: leaving in about 2 hours to go camping for the weekend!! im hoping the rain stops soon..but the weather network says its not supposed to rain where we're going anyways...
last night, me and dylan went to the groceries. i had made a list and we made an 80$ budget to try and stick to--we figured $20 a person was a good price and if 1 or 2 more ppl came-it would be even cheaper..
boy did we stock up lol lets see:
4 2L 7ups (for vodka 7)-which were 4 for $5 thats why we got so many
2 2L lemonade containers, a case of water
5 bags of chips-yes 5 (for 1 full day and 2 nights of camping-there is 3 guys going afterall)
24 hot dogs
12 hamburgers
muffins, apples, danishes, oatmeal
and some other stuff thrown in...
total with tax: $80.73...talk about good grocery shopping skills!

and of course, all the alcohol: 2 cases of beer, a 40 of vodka, and whatever else shows up! im sure ill have lots of pictures! and once we get back on sunday afternoon, dylan and i are going out to dinner with my parents...shall be a good weekend!

bibliophilia

i believe dylan and i fall under this category..while we both love reading, we also love collecting books too..

we dream to one day have such an incredible library..wall to wall, floor to ceiling-full of books.

the most common books will surely be true crime, fashion, and environmental works. i would love to also have that ladder that is attached to the wall and slides back & forth, you know the one?

lunch=lots of food

today, my parents and i went to kings buffet.
it was delish!!
much more modern decor than the mandarin, but i guess thats to be expected bc it is much newer.
the food was sooo good and there was soo much of it!!
for me: 2 plates of food, 1 plate of fruit and 1 plate of dessert did it..phew
this was 4 hours ago we went, and im still way stuffed...
i give this place 9/10---only reason for docking a point--no (coconut) macaroons :( :( sad sad

last night we had a good ole sunday dinner-and it was nice enough to sit outside and eat.

dad pulled out the charcoal bbq and the food was delish-and with this type of bbq comes S'MORES

mardi gras

it was mardi gras in some of the bars in the village last night..

i went out with dylan, his roommate and his buddy...

we started off by needing beads, however, the store only had beads in garland form-ie like 15 feet long lol so we had to cut them and make our own-but you know, it worked..

we hung out and had drinks on the patio at one bar for most of the night and then we just walked around for a bit and ran into people and friends...

the city

last night while driving home from toronto with my mom...
we passed people dancing on the busy streets..
spadina and bloor to be exact..
there was music playing softy, sounded like caribana and the metal drums going..
30 or 40 people were happily dancing together, the salsa, the swing etc..
it looked like so much fun on a thursday night @ 9pm...
oh how i miss the excitement of the city when im not there

yesterday (sunday), dylan and i wanted to do something-his one day off--so we asked my parents if they wanted to go to niagara on the lake with us..done deal-so we were on the road just after 10 and got there around 11 or so.

i love love love looking at all the houses there-they are soo pretty!! especially this little hide-away neighbourhood on the way-you turn down niven rd and its a bunch of houses that all look impecable and take you back to america like 100 years ago-theyre fantastic looking.

anyways, we walked along the main street, got some ice cream, looked and the day was good! the fam!

we went to tattoo rock parlour on queen st, which was awesome!!! i loved it there..fantastic music, better crowd than any other toronto club...

the birthday girl had a great time-ie passed out in the limo before 2am and all 19 of us girls danced the night away.

now im definitely not wearing leather lol, i have a little black skirt i got a winners a few weeks ago and have yet to wear it. then today i found a black lace top at h&m. so there is my outfit, along with my fringe betsey shoes and fringe marc mini purse...
too bad i left all my black jewelry in toronto..so sad, ill have to borrow my moms stuff...
