those who cook together, stay together

we started off our weekend together last night. dylan got here around 830-suitcase in tow, ready for NYC on MONDAY!! today was a lazy day, we took chloe for a walk, sat in the park for a bit, got home around 2 and had a little nap after watching some tv.i woke up 445! ahh i needed to start dinner! mostly the potatoes, because they take like 45 min to boil--today it was mashed potatoes and chicken. dylan decided to throw some cauliflower in the oven (frozen) -his own concauction lol however, it took a little longer than anticipated and came out done about an hour after we were done eating-it was still yummy, we were just still too full! boo :(

breaking news

so bush and clinton were in toronto today

just before 7ish, im sitting on the couch and i hear a cop siren, you know the "bloop bloop" and i quickly get up to look out the window..what do i see? 2 cops on motorcycles, followed by about 10 black limos and SUVs all with lights on them and at the end of the line, 2 more motorcycle cops.. whoa, whats going on here!

i head outside quickly for chloe "to go pee" ;) riiight lol and i start walking down the street..and arent all the cars parked at the end of my street!?!? holy geez!! a little crowd of people, valet parking, a sign saying "EVENT" displayed on the front lawn of a massive house...OMG..i started talking to a guy on the street all dressed up and he said that just a few seconds ago, bush and clinton were getting out their cars and shaking peoples hands!! dammit!!

so i kind of walked back and forth for a few minutes (stalker? lol) and my mom was telling me to "take pictures," "take pictures!!" lol but i didnt..so i missed the two presidents literally by like 2 minutes.. i hung out on my porch for a bit, thinking they had to leave sometime, but i guess i juuust missed it. oh well, maybe another time. lol ya right, cuz its everyday the last 2 presidents take a drive down your street and go to an event there haha
still a semi-cool experience none-the-less lol

sweat it out

dylan came up for another yoga class on tuesday night. we went for the 8pm class. for me, it was a good class, i think i was understanding the first breathing exercise better, therefore breathing better and in turn, helping me with the rest of the class..the teacher even pointed me out for doing good ;) haha i love #6 (standing bow pulling pose) i can do it pretty decenet for only doing two times, however, i cant wait until i can do it fully and properly. ie...this little picture to the left. the poses that still bother me are 20 and 22, when i have to put my head back..makes me feel a little sick..however, im pushing myself to not be lazy today and go back..plus, i kinda ate like crap yesterday (umm 3 bowls of chips :S) and i figure i gotta sweat it out lol although the rest of the day was all fruits, carrots, yogurts and good stuff....once i sign up for a full package soon, i have to get some proper yoga clothes. but god, why are they so expensive?! for tiny shorts and a sports bra its going to be like $100. i dont think so, ill have to shop around. im hoping every class just gets better and better, and i know it will. im happy to have found something that i really like and is great for me. the flexibility is just a bonus!

OMG OMG OMG

i could not be HAPPIER at this moment.
i just got into the criminology program for the major!!!
which i didnt think was possible a few hours ago..see i had the GPA this year that met the requirements. but they look at the cumulative GPA from 1st and 2nd year..lets just say i hated my first year classes and my marks reflected that..so average out my marks over the 2 years and i got a shitty cumulative GPA--it didnt meet the minimum.
today: i walked on over to the guidance counsellor and told her whats up. basically, this is what ive wanted for 2 years, and i asked if i didnt get in this year, is it possible to try again next year..and the answer is yes, but it would put me behind and blah blah blah and just be an inconvenience kind of. also, i wanted to know if maybe my 2nd year could be weighted more when they looked at me-seeing as my marks had improved so much and what not.
she sent me down the hall to talk to the program director and maybe they would take that into consideration..bad news-she wasnt there...but i got her card and i was gonna send her an email later today.
so i got home by around 11, was a little upset, thinking i really wouldnt get in. just now, i went online to delete my enlish major and 'accept' my sociology major 'invite'-but whats this i see?? i see a big bold INVITED beside criminology!! HOLY CRAP!!
umm ACCEPT!!! i dont even know how this happened seeing as invites shouldnt even be going out until june..but ya, for whatever reason IM IN and im NOT complaining!!!
i am like beyond excited...ive wanted this since i finished college 2 years ago..i really cant believe it...
i can now say, i am doing a double major in criminology and sociology with a minor in sexual diversity.
i took sexual diversity last year when i needed to pick a major for the computer, and there was so requirements for this. in short-when i took 3 classes this year, i ended up really enjoying them, and i dont want to stop taking them. so thats what led me to decide to still minor in it. hopefully this all works out for me in the end..no reason why it wont..and ill be graduating in 2 years!!

HAPPY HAPPY I AM SO HAPPY ;)
look for me on the crime scenes in a few years haha

MTV-the hills aftershow; live with lauren

thats where i was last night with my 2 girlfriends!! i know, i know, we may be a bit old to like the show and go see lauren, but we all look young, so we fit in lol

we got to the studio aound 7pm, the doors opened at 830 and there was already a lineup. so we got in line, maybe 100 people in front of us or so, and we waited..

got some subway, ate it in line, and waited for an hour and a half to pass..slowly..it was a little cold out.

at least they were on time and opened the doors at the right time, and they signed everyone in who was on the list. once we got in, everyone had to check their coats..bummer..it was really cold in there!! and once we did that, everyone was ushered into the actual studio and placed somewhere in there..soo much smaller than i expected..we were placed behind the couch where they talk, boo hoo, but it was a small studio like i said, so it was ok and there was also TVs all around.

when everyone was all settled in, it was about 915-930. then the two hosts, dan and jessi, came out and talked, did a practice applause and what not, and before you know it, we got to watch the hills episode at 10. it was a good one, heidi picked her dress, spencer called and apologized to lauren (Gasp!!) and stephanie said some more stupid but funny comments lol

at 1030, the after show started!! wooo exciting and lauren came out!! she stayed out for the whole half hour, but we couldnt really get any good pics, because we were sitting right behind her..

the studio

heyyy to the audience!!

out with the old

today: i took out my belly button ring. for good.
i got it in wasaga beach the summer after high school graduation. all our friends had gone up camping for a few days and i just decided to do it. me and my other friend did it together, and after debating who would go first, i did. it didnt hurt, and it was done in a snap. then she went. and oh boy did she think it hurt..so thank goodness she didnt go first, because there is no way after hearing her experience, that i would have put myself through that. ahah

that was about, what, 4 years ago? changed it the odd time, never had any problems, infections (whew), and i liked it. lately tho, i have just been feeling like ive been growing out of it. the last few weeks, i have been contemplating taking it out, looking at it, pulling at it, but always putting off take it out.

today, i just did it. i walked to the bathroom, grabbed the alcohol, rubbed it clean and pulled that baby out. it looks really weird to look down and see a bare belly..im not used to it..the hole is still there, im assuming i will always have a little scar..but thats ok..just a memory of a fun time at the beach with friends..

bikram yoga

wow, what an experience

we walked in the room, and surpisingly, it wasnt quite as hot as i had worked myself up to think. granted, it was still like being in a sauna. so we layed there on our mats, waiting for the class to start. a few minutes later, i have sweat forming on my back already lol greattt im not even moving yet!!

anyways, there was about 12 people in this class. me and dylan were the only 1st day people, but a few others who were only on their 2nd day, so we felt better. the class started and i was doing ok...before class, me and dylan had imagined that we would laughing at ourselves not being able to the poses and what not. but surpisingly, as soon as class started, we both zoned right in, and barely looked at each other. after maybe ide say, 25 minutes or so, i started to get faint. so i had to lay down. i was then ok to continue on again. sweat was pouring off of me like ive never seen, and i didnt even think my body had it in me to sweat that much! lol

the poses were getting more difficult as the time went on, and later on again, i had to sit down. but its really amazing how flexible you become in the heat. i was able to do things that i never thought possible! quite awesome. the class was coming to an end, and we were both struggling our way through. it wasnt even the heat that was bothering me in the end. its once you get to like pose maybe 17 and on, you have to lay down and then get up quickly into the next pose, then lay down, and up quickly to next pose, and so on..you get the point...i think the fas pase from up and down really took a toll on me and did me in.

need less to say, we finished the class and were impressed with ourselves. the teachers and front desk were happy too! haha half the battle of the first class is staying in the room...
so we ended up buying the 7 day trial pass for $20...so have all week to go and try it ...
i didnt go today, but i plan on going tmrw and possibly wednesday, and thursday ..and maybe friday and saturday?!? hmmm we'll see..i really WANT TO like this, and i know i just have to give me body a chance to get used to the heat. plus, the benefits of this: like toning, and the exercise and flexibility will be rewarding also. so i will MAKE myself like this lol
the only downfall: its quite costly..monthly, 10 passes..ya $$$$

anywho..thats my first time experience
hot, sweaty, challenging, intense, and rewarding..all wrapped up in one 90 minute heat wave.

and these poses look ridiculous!
im dragging dylan
yep...should be torture
neither of us have ever done any kind of yoga.
haha but im oddly excited.

Goodluck to me and dyl!!

countdown

-9 days until nyc...

hello little blue tiffanys box..how i love thee...♥
blurry--but oh so in love.. ha cheesy

we had decided to buy each other rings...

dyl and his tough as nails titanium (coin edge) ring..

-mine was the tiffany somerset

i love love love my ring..every time the sun is out, it just sparkles like crazy, and i just stare lol we picked eachothers rings, he's got pretty good taste.. lucky me ! we had planned it ahead of time before we went to new york, so we kind of just walked in and pointed to the rings and it was pretty quick haha i think the lady was a little surprised..we just needed to try on sizes..i think originally we had planned, or at least for me, to wear it on the left hand, buuut with my tiny fingers, even the smallest was a little too big. and because the ring is like a weave style, it couldnt be sized..but luckily my right hand finger was just that little bit bigger and it fits!! wooo...dylans was a pretty easy fit-hes scratched his up quite a bit, but hes a guy i guess..as long as he wears it! needless to say, i love tiffanys, i love the boxes, the sparkles, the diamonds, oh the diamonds... :) it was a must for me to keep the bag and boxes and tie the ribbon back up, so we had to hide them in the suitcase to go back across the border...even though i have a tiffanys very close to me in toronto that we could have gotten them at, we both thought it would be nice to get them in new york, have something to look forward to, and remember that time.
cant wait for this trip!!

saturday yard sales

there has been a sign in the hallway of my house for a few weeks now.. saying you know, hey neighbours, we're having a garage sale on may 23..etc.. so i assumed it was someone in the house. it started at 8, and i woke up early today on my own, at like 730, say what?! why?? lol i opened my living room blinds, and saw that it was actually the couple across the street having the sale. theyre so sweet, they have 2 young kids, maybe 7 and 10, and 2 big labs-who chloe is a little scared of, but also interested in.

i went out to take chloe for her pee and they were all set up, with a lot of people already looking at the stuff (it was just after 8 by then). when i walked by, the husband was like, oh i have something for you! and he showed me to two harness type things that they used on their dogs when they were puppies-so he said for me to try it to see if i wanted it. i took her around the corner for her pee with it on and then came back and he gave it to me, free!! thanks! i looked around at the rest of the stuff and saw a cute pink mug with teal inside-super nifty! (did i just say nifty?) i asked the mom how much, and she just said, ohh take it! and just minutes before, she had put out cake and cookies for the people who come by. so as i took my new mug, she put a cookie in...theyre sweet, im tellin ya.. i think i make it sound like theyre old lol theyre not, ide say in their 30s. ha

ive decided this will be my new morning coffee cup. instead of the plain white ones-which i will continue to use, oddly enough i dont really use regular glasses, i always pour my drinks in my coffee cups-probably because theyre right there hanging in my face in my kitchen-easy access.

my lovely free mug and cookie...yummmm

its probably my imagination, but i see a little heart in my mug there..i swear, i see them everywhere...

this video...

i could watch over and over again..

new book

i was informed about a book a few days ago..after the fireworks, me and dylan headed back to his place with his room mate and friend, and he was talking about a book he was reading. Helter Skelter by Vincent Bugliosi. i had watched the movie on TV a few years ago when it was on and its fascinating. this guy was talking this book up for a while, and for me-someone who loves crime and deviance and all that (hence the criminology, hopefully)-i had to get my hands on this book. i ordered it from amazon yesterday and it came in the mail today! how awesome is that, theyre kinda amazing like that..not to mention its like 30% cheaper than chapters. i cannot wait to read this book!! i just have to finish my other one first..how luxury lost its luster.

ahhh

how i hate cramps!!! boooo
i have had the most aweful cramps pretty much for the last 12 or 13 years. it sucks, big time. i have prescription pills and take them as early as i can in the morning when i know its coming, but after years of taking them, i dont think they are working as well anymore. luckily for about the last 4 months, i have found that taking those pills and then about an hour later taking some tylenol, that seems to do the trick.
but this morning, i woke up at dylans, and had no pills to take..so i had to wait till about noon when i was home. i just finished taking my tylenol and the pain is going away..thankfully. usually im curled in the fetal position rocking back and forth lol
although, dylan bought me these gel pad things, and you press a little button on the inside and it gets hard and reallly hot, which helps to put that on my stomach. it stays hot for a few hours-its awesome, really. then you just boil it back to normal again.
well, thats my rant about how bad cramps suck for one day of the month... gahhh

fireworks!

may 2-4 weekend is almost over.
but that means that tonight is fireworks (unless it rains-so it better not!)
this will be me and dylans 3rd year going together-i think we can now start to call it a "tradition" lol
like last year, dylan said it was our tradition, but i dont think a 2nd time counts as that, but this year, yes lol and the many years to come..
but fireworks are awesome.
the only 'not fun' part is leaving the park with the other tens of thousands of people-total chaos.
butttt-we're prepared for tonight--we'll grab a blanket, some drinks from home, our big bag of candy that we bought yesterday at bulk barn (mmm wayy too much, but i imagine we wont have a problem finishing it tonight lol) and a book for each of to read while we grab a good seat and wait for the sky to light up.

birthday boy

so it was dyls bday on monday--the big 2-3!! yikes, getting up there...i realized i hadnt posted any pics..we were gonna go out to dinner in toronto and i had a limit of about $100, but then we decided to come back home to hamilton and find a place here..proved harder than we thought..naming place after place, looking at online menus and reviews, we couldnt think of anything. then dylan had an idea-why not go to the casino for the buffet, and then spend the remainder of the money i had allotted for dinner at the casino--because i absolutely cant justify spending more than like $5 at the casino-terrible waste!! seeing as i was already planning on spending that money, it sounded like a plan, and besides, it was his birthday!

so dinner was $40-cant get better than 20 bucks for a buffet, and then we had about 60$ for the casino.

the evening started off simple enough..me getting ready at my parents, then bringing my sleeping stuff to his apartment and then he got ready there..i had heels on, but was sure to bring flats in my bag..well by the time we walked from my car to his apartment before we even went out, my feet were not having it. its a good thing i had my flats in my bag right? um no. bc when i left toronto, i grabbed two different shoes-see theyre both leopard and i was packing at like 6am and they look very similar--not only that, they were both left feet!! DOH!

shoot-so now i have to go home and get another pair of shoes-most of which are in toronto-luckily i had a comfy pair of heels to wear.

anyways---it was time for dyl to open his gifts--a tshirt and a bracelet-nothing major, he's got a lot. i also wrapped his gifts in newspaper--for the environmentalist that he is ;) he liked his stuff, and then we were off to get me some more shoes, and then to the casino

so the buffet was OK--i mean the food was good, there just wasnt a whole lot of selection..but the dessert section kicked ass!! 9 plates between the 2 of us..embarassing? i think so lol then we wandered on out to the casino--spotted deal or no deal slots and decided that was our game!! it was awesome actually-i put in $20, and a few minutes later cashed out at 77$, put in abother 20 and cashed out at about 62$. then played a little more, and we split out winning and both walked out with about $45..not too shabby..ill be back for that game another time!!!

so that was our night..no pics in the casino--privacy policy--boo for that..we ended up back at dylans place, playing darts, putting holes in the walls, making him and his room mate run for cover when i throw a dart-who knows which direction it will go lol all in all, it was a good night.

another year older!.

bc who doesnt take car pictures??

and the intense concentration that goes into playing darts...(note: not my socks, or sweater, but they were comfy and warm)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY blog style!! LOVE YOU!! <3>
